Binoculars are a bit like tripods for me, I have gone through so many pairs to find the right ones. Great review Scott.

Hi Scott. Thanks for this review. I'm in the market for a new pair of binoculars. I don't take them out with my often but the ones I have are old and creaking. These look like they will do the job nicely. 👍

I always leave my bins at home these days ! But I agree it is a lot easier to spot subjects than using the lens ! Good review Scott ! 👍😍

Thanks Mark, I suspect you carry even more gear than me mate! I'm testing out my theory and I am spotting more with the binoculars. Now I just need to figure a way to carry it all. Thanks for watching mate👍

Good review Scott. Like you I tend to leave the bino's at home on the assumption that I can use the camera instead but your arguments on why bino's work better for spotting wildlife are persuasive. 👍😊

Thanks Paul, I am currently testing out my own theory and I have to say I am leaning on the side of taking bino's out as well. The only issue I have and thought about putting in the video is when you carry a camera with a peak design strap and binoculars round your neck one strap is always fouling up the other. (or am I doing it wrong😂) The only possible way I have thought of getting around this is to carry the binoculars on a belt clip, I used to do this in my archery days. I might test this out! Anyway thanks for watching mate👍

I'm a total glass tart bud, as you know lol... I use binoculars on a daily basis and have been a birder and a wildlife nut since a kid so bins and a magnifying glass has always been in my kit..... Quality of glass goes deep and can depend on whether the nuances in colour and feather detail etc In a multitude of lights is what you are after to the expense of glass so it depends greatly on use, whether spotting or id'ing, horses for courses as with all glass.... It's the ford fiesta or Ferrari question, both get you there eh lol.... Bin's are a must in my opinion for wildlife photography and I have a few pairs as well as a scope and I always have a pair on me where ever i am.... Great review i shall poke anyone who is looking for a pair of Bin's to this video in future as I'm constantly getting asked what's a good and reasonably priced set of bins... Top stuff bud!

Cheers JP. Totally agree. I suppose unless you are a glass nut 90% of people won't tell the difference between a £400 pair of bino's and a £2000 pair. Similar to me taking an image with my Sony A6400 and one with the A7r3 Very hard to tell apart. I like your analogy by the way! I would say the fiesta is a tricked up top of the range version tho, it will get you to the nightclub only slightly slower than the Ferrari but when you arrive you won't have any crowds mobbing you😂👍

Good review Scott, I think that 200 - 250 price bracket gives you some decent optics have cheaper ones for backup but definitely find them second choice. Thanks for taking note. 👍

Thanks Glenn, I have been impressed with most of Vanguards range (I wouldn't use it otherwise) I just wish they would produce a bowl tripod and fluid head. I've offered to road test it for them😂 Thanks for watching mate👍

Great review Scott. They’d definitely come in handy for wildlife. Pretty compact and water resistant. I could do with a pair of them sometimes especially for smaller birds here. Thanks for sharing the video mate 👍🙏

Thanks Adrian, I think they are a pretty good buy for the quality you get. I forgot how much I used binoculars before I resorted to looking through the camera lens instead. Extra weight to carry but on balance I think it's worth it.👍👍

Scott that binoculars looks really interesting. I was wondering about the weight, because I didn't find it in Vanguard website. Another doubt is the magnification, that I think is quite bigger, and maybe I'd go for a 7x42. Anyway, thanks for your review.
@scotttilleyphotography2 жыл бұрын
Hi Giuseppe, the weight of the 10-42's is 730g. I went for the 10-42's over the 8-42's as I think they are slightly more useful for all types of wildlife. If I only wanted binoculars for birds i would have probably gone for the 8-42's. All the best👍👍

Can you recommend a camera bag so I can leave a Sony a6400 on the Sony 200-600 please
@scotttilleyphotography2 жыл бұрын
Hello Russ, a good question. I currently use the Vanguard Alta Sky 51D but have to remove the 200-600 from my bodies to carry it. It is something that I have been looking at for the same reason. In the Vanguard range these seem to do the job. www.vanguardworld.co.uk/collections/bags/products/veo-adaptor-r48-bk www.vanguardworld.co.uk/collections/bags/products/alta-sky-66
