My first car at 16 years old in 1976 was a '68 Impala 327 2DR HT. I bought it for $375.00 with mag wheels and Hi-Jackers. It was in very good condition except for a smashed driver side front fender when I bought it. I got lucky and found a perfect fender that was the same color at the junkyard to go on it for $25.00. I sold it to my younger brother when I joined the Army in 1978 for $400!

I had had a butternut yellow 68 SS 427 Impala custom coupe. It was a total rust bucket but it had hideaway lights. I have only seen Caprices with this option, so i always guessed someone added it .

i grew up next to a chevy dealership brow chevy in pepperell mass. and this was his wifes demo. hers was white white top red interi. very sharp car.

The 2-3-4 color interior colors of the 50's and 60's were stylin'. Surpised by this SS because Pontiac had the coolest color / patterned interiors during that time and '68 seems late, but much appreciated.

My grandparents had this in a coupe (no SS). They bought it new in 1968 and had it until 1983.

I'm a lowrider and we wouldn't dare cut a clean and original car like that, especially one with a numbers matching big block. Most Chevy lowriders are small block cars anyway, unless you're building a basic lay and play set up. The only thing I'd add is some skirts and maybe upgrade to a built 700R4.

so is it an "inpala ss"? or the "chevrolet ss"? which was a separate model on the same platform. the hood and fender gills make me feel it may be the latter which is more rare than the former

It's an Impala SS. Special hood,gills,427 emblems...and..it doesn't have ANY Impala emblems on the car. Unlike regular Impalas. I own one.

I have one. Fast back ,not convertible. Went to the 40 year show in Dayton Ohio in 2018 for the National Impala association. There were about 25 SS 427 Impalas there. Bought mine back in 1981...still have it.
