Keep in mind if you wanna roll alliance hunter that night elfs have 9 more agility than dwarfs resulting in 18 more ranged AP aswell as some crit/dodge

You can also take cheaper mana shots instead of a concussive shot stun. But Frost Trap + Entrapment has so many uses in PvP. Throw a flare on the icy field and you have some sort of a safe zone for your friends for half a minute and more.

Most fun class..but treated like a second rate citizen when you spam for groups or try to get a raid slot. People usually only take hunters in 5 man's for example because they want more access to cloth gear drops. Kind of sums up the class at 60.

You may want to mention, as you level your character, you also MUST lever your pets as well. You will also have to tame several pets if you want your MAIN pet to have special abilities. Like stealth, specific attacks, etc. If you decide to change your MAIN pet once you hit 60, whatever new pet you tame, you will have to level that pet to 60 from whatever lvl you tamed it at. EX: You change your MAIN pet and tame a new lvl 30 pet, now you have to lvl that pet to 60. Not a huge deal, but as you lvl the new pet against higher lvl mobs it will die fast, you will need even more food, etc.

You didnt mention that Tauren is actually a great race for pvp hunters because of Warstomp, it gives you a free 2 sec stun in which to apply a wingclip without chance of dodging, this makes a huge difference against warrs and rogues.

idk why bother with the talents when the obvious is 21mm/30 surv - the cc chain is insane(scatter shot, imp. concussive, imp wing clip, improved traps counterattack, all with 5sec immobilize-wtf)+ you don't lose the crit and u get a super 15% increase in agility my biggest question is if 21/21/9 is better then 0/21/30, you get a better pet with stun but lose deterance/counter, trap empowerment's 3%crit/15% agi and i rather go surva as it gives consistency

Entrapment + Frost Trap. Almost a permanent root for the fool that steps on it. 25% chance to root for 5 seconds that pulses every 1 second ... And the ice field lasts 40 seconds when talented, while also still slowing all who cross by 60%

Dual wielding bone-slicing hatchet with +agility enchant and the av xbow is the best pre-raid weapon set.. even for pvp the xbow was really good, had the same dmg as the epic bow because it was slower, before they normalized it.

Personally i dont agree with your view on mana for lvling. If u're doing it correctly, its worth using most mana effective skills (serpent sting, immolation trap, multishot on multiple targets) Best strategy in my opinion is to hold 2 mobs on your pet having serpent sting on them, pulling extra one when one of them is on low hp and use multi shot. That way you always cast multishot on 3 targets and its very efficient. It gets even better if you have a friend mage who can conjure you free water. As for items if you're playing on pve you should always go for agi/int items while leveling.

I want to play vanilla wow, but how does one catch up with raids and such? Are most people veteran vanilla players? I played vanilla as a kid but never raided or anything. I miss the social feel of it but would love to raid.

The social feel still exists. You'll get a raiding guild and you'll be able to recover fast. But keep in mind that this is time consuming.

boars were also better for the sake of food. they eat nearly anything. broken tooth was also one of the best bm pets. his attack speed was a caster nightmare.

3 to 5?!?!?!?! They are useless and only worth for tranq shot to remove enrage and thats basically it.Also for kiting adds and bosses with concussive+cheetah. When u have a good hunter in guild then max is 2 hunters in a raid.U just loose dps by bringing more hunters^

Someone that can't calculate 150 ap buff is 10 dps base added to your melee group where your in as a marksman, with abilities, that increases to about 50 per person, or 200 dps for your group per full group. With wolves you also get the bonus damage on next attack every 10 seconds for the entire party, furthering the dps increase. Also hunters bring 2 great things as well to raids 1) there ranged so they don't soak as much healing 2) reliable dps due to beeing able to outrange some of the boss mechanics and to go full throttle from the start with feign death. If you believe bringing fewer hunters makes your raid kill things faster then you haven't played with good hunters (Or your in naxx at patchwork with 2 tanks 15 healers 1 warlock and 22 Fire mages)

The spear 35agi= 70ap (35agi is around 0.70% crit) The blade has 10 less ap but more crit. Now some people will say 10ap > ~0.30 crit and some will say the opposite. If you ask me... they are both same in terms of dps outcome. I played hunters on every expansion except legion cause i never tried it. 1 year of hardcore hunter on elysium-LH. I mastered the hunter with using only 1 class addon(raise-autoshot) and 1 class macro(aspect hawk-cheetah change). I only used those because i hate having lots of addons and such and all that bullshit. Trust me when i say, you will be a better player pvp and pve with less addons and macros. Even in raids i never used KTM and such, i always lied for having it but you know why i never did? Cause i "mastered" my class, i know how high im dealing and such. My total addons are 8-9( and just 1 for the class)

2x Bone slicing Hatchet with +15 Agi on weapon enchant is competitive with huntsman still though, (4 agility difference) And personally i prefere useing dual wielding in pvp as well. Up untill AQ40 or Naxx, 2x one hander (AQ20 rep axe, and bwl dagger or axe) was best. Depending on what spec you are, dual wielding was always better due to beeing able to apply two oils. Competetive builds with arcane shot instead of Aimed shot were also viable because it scaled with Spell power, (Flask, extra elixers, and brilliant wizard oils) as well as Curse of Shadows (reducing arcane resist and increaseing arcane damage by 10%) no autoshoot weaving time loss, and allowing more attack speed weapons (Hurricane was a great example beeing able to out dps BWL crossbow wielders due to the vastly improved up time of Improved aspect of the hawk (5% per shot with no internal cooldown) (more shots per minute more uptime, and more of that 30% dps increase) Hunters: Easy to learn, hardest to master

racials dont matter as much as what you look like in armor as a hunter at 60 vanity > 2% damage maybe also cows hold bows like gangsters sideways killshot and war stomps saved my life and helps in dungeons while being stuck in close range
