Thanks for the tips Frost, I started wow in vanilla but only started playing a mage/frost mage in Wotlk so I'm missing spells and have a lot to learn. Just did level 13 on Kronos II to get into the rhythm, will roll a character on Nost when it comes out :)

Mage is quite different in vanilla compared to wolk, but if you liked the mage in wolk i;m pretty sure you'll enjoy it in vanilla.

As a level 47 Frost Mage, is it worth upgrading to the Dreamweave Vest, Gloves, and Circlet? I can make them myself, but the Wildvine is 3 - 4 gold each, and the gloves seem like a downgrade from my current gloves (will lose 6 intellect).

Great video, Frost. Two questions. 1. why isn't Mage mana a problem in raids and bosses? Are pots and gems enough to sustain a Mage the entire fight of a progression boss?2. Do you have a 60 on either of the old Nost servers?

Even early raiding with 31/0/20 spec in prebis gear you might get a manapool of 6k. With Arcane meditation and mage armor you'll have 45% mana regeneration while casting, not taking into consideration Blessing of wisdom or totems. You should have before the boss fight a major mana pot and 2x gems different ranks, you might not use them but as you say on a boss progression you might encounter some issues, you'll evocate and get you mana back. If you manage your mana good, for example using a pot or gem after you consume 30% of your mana in order to get the cooldowns back you'll be able to sustain dps up to 95% of the time on boss. I don't have any chars on old nost.

Awesome video as always! I was just wondering, would you recommend using taloring/ench as proffesions on the mage? I was thinking about going herb/alch but I've heard alot of talk of the gear talors are able to craft beeing really good for mages. So what would you recommend?

Enchanting/tailoring works ok for mage/warlock/priest. Keep in mind that professions wont bring you a fortune in vanilla unless you hit some jackpot recipes. You can pick herbalism/tailoring up to 60 since they are cheap to lvl, at 60 create your Archmage robe and remove the tailoring profession and pick alchemy. Either ench/tailoring or herb/alchemy should be fine. Probably alchemy you'll have more chances to make gold if you work a bit with it.

Hmm, not sure what you mean. Maybe when you click on the mouse -> you lose your target? There should be something in the interface called sticky target. Look for that.

In WoW you can't lock onto targets, you will have to face your character towards the target manually. Usually this is done by holding down the right mouse button and moving the mouse from side to side, this makes your character look around and also turns your character. Some people use the "turn left/right" buttons, aka keyboard-turning, but this is problematic since they only allow you to turn at a slow speed. A rogue can easily just stay behind your back, not allowing you to cast on him.

why does frostbolt not get the full benefit from spell dmg such as firebolt? and is it different for each spell?

damage and healing power scales to spells according to their cast time. a 3 sec + cast time will get full benefit from spell power or healing. 2.5 sec cast will get around 85% . 2 sec around 65% and so on. Fire blast & scorch 43%. While arcane explosion and blizzard around 14% Imagine arcane explosion scaling 100% or Fire blast.

I'm a new wow vanilla player (i've played on TBC server years ago) and i really don't know which class i should do...i always played warrior and this time i would change class...i was thinking of three classes: mage, shaman and warlock...any suggestion? Well, I'm going to release the warlock video in less than a hour. Check that also, choose whatever suits your playstyle. If you want to pvp choose the pvp server, either old nostalrius or new elysium that will be released probably next year. It does not matter which you choose, they'll all be populated> The difference is that the old server which will be released in 17th of december the progress is up to AQ 40, so you'll have to catch up a little. The new server, all will start fresh. It's a matter of preference.

I don't give class advices :) That's why i make this video series with classes. People might see them and think if that fits their play style. Other than that, this is vanilla wow, all classes will be fun to play since this version of the game has other qualities beyond classes.

tailor, enchanting tailor to craft your own clothes enchanting to disenchant all the clothes you made in tailoring that you dont need, and to enchant your clothes with bonuses. thats with mage though.

Pretty much all 4 races capable of being mages are okay for the class. Human is probably the worst choice min max wise, but the spirit bonus is nice while lvling, same with the rep boost. Troll is also probably best in the game for pve because of berserking if you’re into that. Keep in mind min maxing isn’t the most important thing in the world, unless you’re a priest.

I'm so torn right now. I'm gunna start on Elysium in a few hours. I played hardcore on my Mage in Vanilla (got Lieutenant General title) and I really miss playing it during those times. However, I kind of want to try out Warrior as it is pretty strong in PvP (with the right gear) but also really fun in PvE as a Tank which is what I want to do. Don't have much time to play these days so if I level a char I need to commit to it! Also, does any one know if twinks exist on Elysium? lv 19 or 29 twinks? (I used to have a rogue twink which was super fun!)

Have you started playing? I believe warrior is pretty much the masterclass in vanilla, so it would be a great choice... However; leveling a warrior requires patience and commitment, like you said you need some gear in order to feel that power and the road to that gear might not be easy. There is a small twink comunnity, I usually see them at the BG masters.

Nebula get ready to get absolutely destroyed if you plan on doing pvp without a pre-made man. warrior is a walking target dummy in that case, as well as being the worst solo pvp class in the game. the game play is fun, especially in pve, but don't expect it to be as good as mage in vanilla. mages can bet the top in raids and are pretty much the best pvp class for solo
