Apollonia is beautiful. She is the epitome of looks are just not enough. She says she passed on _The Last Dragon._ She doesn't have the presence that Vanity had, and while she was popular enough at the time to make the movie, she doesn't have anything more than her beauty (she was beautiful!) to keep you interested in the character, *IMO*

Vanity, by far. Her face was damn near perfect. Apollonia was simply the replacement Prince needed when Vanity left him during the production of Purple Rain. He tried to continue the success of Vanity 6 with Apollonia 6, but Apollonia just didn't have the same gravitas as Vanity. However, Apollonia did have a better pair of knockers, I'll concede that 😆

Vanity 6 came out at the time were Prince was in the top of his underground powers with New Wave, Punk and Rude boy aesthetics, so Vanity 6 wasn't just appealing to Funk/Dance crowds, but they also appeal to the avant garde Alt scene. In the other hand Apollonia 6 came out when Prince became a Pop star, so obviously they got a mainstream audience. For those reasons comparisons does not make sense.

Very good break down! Especially in regards to where both groups benefited from their exposure at that certain time in Prince’s career. A6 benefited hugely from Purple Rain…I still believe “Nasty Girl” at least went gold not sure if “Sex Shooter” reached gold sales. I think had he focused on them during the hight of the Purple Rain movie A6 could have been more huge! But then in walks Sheila E. Who stole all of their thunder! In regards to where Prince was focusing all of his attention of course.

Vanity was Prince's real girlfriend. Purple rain was based off of them. Vanity was way sexy than Apollonia. Apollonia was stiff and robotic. Vanity had that sex appeal that when she was on stage you couldn't take your eyes off her. When applonia was performing you couldn't take your eyes off Susan. When you're the front Diva, your back up perfomers shouldn't be able to upstage you. Besides, Apollonia was giving Vanitys hand me downs. The songs she sang. The group she joined. The clothes she wore. The script she read. Was all based off of Denise Matthews "Vanity " . Also Prince drop the applonia group after Purple rain. And begin to give songs away that was once intended for Vanity 6 turned Apollonia 6. It just wasn't happening with apples. Applonia was good looking. But Vanity was Prince's ultimate Sex goddess. He knew it too. Also Vanity left. Had a somewhat successful career . Better than Applonia anyway. Prince asked apples 2 leave when the gig was over.
