Her 'normal' accent is sort of posh Australian, not quite British BBC generic. She emphasised & broadened the Aussie accent some with her answers, into bogan & bushie territory. If you listed carefully you will note she does American talk shows with an American accent - heavier on the Rs, cleaner vowels etc. She gets away with posh Aussie for British talk shows, usually.

Haha I think it could totally confuse ESL students. We actually speak English, therefore a good grasp of English is the key. Most of this slang isn’ t used very much. Cate is just having a bit of fun with it. Also any immigrants or travellers who really try to understand a culture, and get to know a country’s people, will have fun and socialise better by asking questions and having slang explained imo. All the best to you.

The interesting thing about the game of two-up is that because it's unregulated, it is illegal to play except on ANZAC Day, which is sort of Australia and New Zealand's version of memorial day. Our troops in the trenches in WW1 played two-up to amuse themselves, so it has become a tradition for veterans and current serving members to have a game or three with a beer on ANZAC Day.

Yep that’s her folks with her completely natural Aussie accent and charisma to most of you but too us she’s a completely down to earth Aussie Sheila, but also due to the obvious we have entitled her with the nickname now as “GREAT CATE”❤

Her accent is definitely more posh than most Aussies, but she’s dead right on most of the slang.

I think this is THE video that makes it perfectly clear that AUSTRALIAN is not an English language, it should be known as speaking AUSSIE

I didn’t know Kate was a Australian. It was hilarious how her whole demeanor changed when she dropped the “proper” speech and talked like an Aussie.
