great information thanks. do you think you save much weight using lightweight ply vs 12mm standard ply for the floor? also did you consider 2x1 batons length ways in the floor valleys? any reason not to go that way?

I have not used 2x1 on a van floor for a long time, but I think putting it in the low spots may cause an issue with insulation (but i am sure there is a way it could work). By going across the floor, we just pick up the high spots and get a lot less chance of cold bridging through the ply. Also the 14mm dodo curves nicely over the ridges and just about sits level with the 12mm plus a bit for adhesive. We use birch ply for anything structural, but lightweight if it doesn't need to hold a screw. I am not a fan of normal hardwood 12mm ply as there are usually so many voids and it warps really badly. There is probably only a kg or so difference between hardwood 12mm and lightweight 12mm, but we have to buy one or the other so we just buy lightweight. When we need strength, we choose birch.

Hi Ed fantastic video again. I have bought some of the amtico flooring from Facebook but where would you get the 3mm strips from. Also what brand of adhesive do you use as there are several out there.

To be honest, I usually buy my flooring from Kimpton flooring who are next door to me, but this one was something they didnt stock. But the strips and glue are supplied by them. The adhesive is the high temp specification. I can check the make.

Yes...I always use the same process for the floor.
