You have to use Anti Gell in diesel fuel. You can buy it at any parts store, like HOT SHOT EDT for winter. But you should use Hot Shot EDT summer mix with every fill up to prolong the life in your Diesel engine.

Try some HotShot winter diesel treatment. You add it to the fuel and it helps prevent gelling in extreme cold.

New subscriber here just a suggestion you should try a 12 volt electric blanket that runs off of your DC battery Bank. I have one and I tested it works great. It's more efficient than an electric one because it's running off your d.c. versus AC less conversion Loss.

It's not uncommon in Scandinavian countries in the extreme north to mix in a bit of avgas to diesel to prevent the gelling. In this case if u plan on doing extreme cold weather camping...maybe add a second fuel line and run the heater from a small diesel tank in the van itself to prevent it from gelling...as to go to the extreme to add avgas for the odd trip...certainly not worth it.

lol I do own a house and other property. The van is my home on wheels that I like taking on adventures
