I was expecting a small spark or friction fire to start from your finger rubbing so fast. 🤣 Love the technique to transfer image and really like the patina 😁👍

HAHAHAHA. So close, but thankfully there was plenty of water to keep it from burning up.

Wow. That photo transfer. Pretty cool. When I did my Charlotte VanOaks tombstone, I printed the photo out. I sealed the back of the photo and set it in the frame with a layer of calk. I clear coated the frame with just clear coat spray paint. It rained all day and night in Halloween and held up well.

Another fun video Derek! And a HUGE thank you for pronouncing "Mod Podge" correctly!! 😆 BTW there is a similar technique for image transfers that you can do with an inkjet printer.

As always the patina looks great! For the photo transfer, I’ve never used a sponge but that seems like it would help it stay saturated. I’ve also done the “reverse” transfer- it’s tricky. Mod podge MANY layers on the laser print, like 20 maybe. Then soak the paper or use sponge to remove all the paper the same way, but you’re left with almost an onion skin of the image. Then mod podge on canvas or any surface, it becomes a little stretchy and sticks to itself, which makes it trickier to work with. I’ve applied to canvas, wrapping the image around the sides like an art piece, or wood plaques and slices. It’s a lot like a Polaroid transfer, but scalable to your laser printer.

Thanks so much for the tips. I'm curious to give it a try!

Love all your tutorials! Best Halloween creator out there! Just made 2 signs using your aging technique from cemetery hours sign video! If I don’t have a laser printer to transfer the image can I just modpodge over it? Adding the patina makes it look so realistic now I want to add it to everything I’m obsessed 😂

What a great easy peasy prop! Who doesn't have modge podge right? One question: does it have to be wood for the photo transfer? Can it be foam? (like tombstone foam)
@VanOaksProps4 жыл бұрын
To the best of my knowledge, it has to be wood. Foam isn’t fibrous so the image wouldn’t have anything to bite into.
