To answer your question about what I think, as a newbie I watch a lot of machining videos to try to learn something. It helps if I know what you are making, its features, and what you are trying to accomplish. Insight into what you are doing and why helps me learn the nuances of machining. All-in-all, I very much enjoy your videos and look forward to see something new each week. Thank you.

"There is no con in making it longer" is true, but there also is no gain. In a threaded connection the first 3.5 threads bear approximately 90% of the load. Using different materials for shaft and nut can exacerbate that condition due to different elastic properties. No threaded engagement bears along the entire threaded length due to a number of variables such as the needed backlash, machine wear or being at high limit on one part and low limit on its mating surface. I have enjoyed this series on the tailstock project. Too many YT machinists cut corners when it doesn't affect the outcome, which is fine but I appreciate your attention to function and form. Cheers

I really hope that pressing the nut in place doesn’t deform the internal dimensions. It’s such a nice fit that would be very frustrating.

Buenos días amigo esa reparación va muy bien? Una sugerencia porque no la fabricó de bronce es mucho mejor SAE 65 ? Es un material muy bueno para la fricción y por qué Nolo hiso rosca izquierda 👍👍

Yes, I see it do. It was adjusted from a previous tool. I put a smaller bar in it so I raised it

A minor correction, if the original was a metric thread it was not ACME, it was trapezoidal, the angles are different. ACME only refers to American imperial threads, not ISO metric.

Often when doing internal righthand thread I set the compound in reverse to bring the threading to lead forward, so my compound is away from the chuck
