Hey man, I was born in Kazakhstan, so kinda close to your parts 😛. Living in Canada-been skating since I was a kid and still try to every day (I’m now in my 20s and working as a software engineer). Skateboarding can be a very intensive and naturally rewarding form of exercise, which is great to have as a habit especially as you get older. So maybe that perspective can help sell your mom on it. Good luck!

Hey tactics I am about 2 weeks into skating but I am struggling to do the turn where you lift your front wheels up any tips will help

When you're doing a kickturn, be sure to lead the turn with your shoulders first, because your lower half is going to follow where your shoulders go. When you start turning your shoulders, you'll have to shift your center of gravity back a bit over the rear wheels so you can lift up the front and allow the back wheels to pivot and follow your shoulders. When you want to finish the turn, lean forward again and return your center of gravity back to the middle of the board. It all takes place within half a second. Just start with tiny tic tacs and work towards bigger rotations. It's going to take some commitment, but I'm sure you'll be able to master it quickly. 👍 Have fun out there! - Tim
