Hi Amg one75! Try going to the next notch on the silicone strap, I had some vibration when I installed one on my Shelby GT350 and that seemed to do the trick. But yeah I agree this is a pretty cool dashcam hard to go back to a regular mirror after this! Lol

Thank you for reviewing the camera. I put this camera 2 years ago and all of the sum is start recording normal recording. I check everything I put a new SD card in. The has a good resolution. No glare in the mirror I put a new one, differently and I have glare in my mirror and it's driving me crazy. I still keep this camera. See if I can fix this on my, I don't know if it can be possible. But it's one of the best easy to work simple. Is anybody has an idea how to fix this? I like to hear in somehoh thank you , my friend , you're so good doing your presentation

Whenever i feel like i want to shoot Video of both the Front doors these cameras have Option to Shoot outside at any time like a Vlogger and do not want to shoot video of (Front and inside the Rear Room) , then the SKYBLUESEA B2W & CAMSONIC ULTRA Z 2 & 3 Dash Cam Benefits if a person want to shoot a video outside the front doors sides Left & Right. Option like Rear View Mirror , would be easy to change the direction to record Multiple Angles like a Pro Photographer of both the Cams accordingly , option to Rotate , as they Rotates 180 degrees and covers the area least 140 or 160 degrees each Cam on both the Door sides , like Rear view Mirror Angle . I love those Dash Cams . My suggestion/option to the Dash Cam Manufacturers .

Thanks so much. Vantops 612 manual was not to informative, and I’m not very tech savvy. I do notice the rear view appears as if everything is farther away than the factory mirror. On my Vantop 612 mimics the right rear side mirrors on vehicles that has the “notice WARNING etched into it that says ! NOTICE, VEHICLES ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR IN MIRROR. ( it’s the law for auto manufacturers ) for this warning.

Yes I agree, that's ones of the things that I really like about this type of dashcams is that they use a wide angle lens on the rear which give a much larger field of view (which in turn makes objects appear farther). Once I got used to it, I prefer it over a regular mirror. Now I do have some viewers that use it with the screen off as a regular mirror some because they want the stealth look but other just prefer a standard mirror while being able to record, so I guess it comes down to preference lol thanks for watching bud!

Thanks Lisa! and congrats on your new mirror dashcam! the hard wire kit from Vantop amzn.to/3180yJG has battery drain protection so I should turn itself off before the battery gets too low. How long until this happens depends on the size of your battery and how old is it. On my car the longest I left it parked so far has been a week , didn't see any issues. That being said unless you want the parking monitor function you should be fine with the normal cigarette lighter plug adaptor. Hope this answers your question!

Great info. This helps a lot with configuring. One question So is it constant recording on a loop both front and rear and then erases and re-records the loop? Unless we press the lock or there’s an event ?

Thanks Rich! Yes that is correct both cameras are recording on a loop and will eventually begin to overwrite old ordinary footage. Video that was locked by the G sensor (if it sensed an impact) or video locked by manually pressing the lock button will not be overwritten. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

There is a player mode to review footage. Im not sure how i got there and came to your video to see if you had the instruction. Edit: there are other functions depending on how you slide your finger and where on the touch screen. Brightness and video player mode and also field of view being the most important. Swipe right from the left part of screen for player mode. (Important to prove footage to police) Slide up and down from right side of screen for brightness. (Useful at nighttime) Swipe up and down from left side to alter field of view.

Hi Bernard! the difference is very small since 2K is defined differently by manufactures sometimes the difference can be as low as 128 pixels (2048 vs 1920). Hope this helps and thanks for watching bud!

Hi i watched the videos and i bought one and installed it myself. It is that easy and i am a 62 year old female. I did not hard wire it but i will look at that later down the track. Very easy to install and great to use, except one thing. When the screen is on i can see the screen and also normally through the rear view mirror. So basically i have two screens one on top of the other. Makes it very hard to drive with so i have to turn off screen. Is there a fix for this?

That is awesome Karen! I did also noticed the glare during the day. What I did was to aim the mirror down so it points towards the rear seats instead of the outside and that seems to cut most of the reflection. I know some viewers have also installed screen anti glare protectors so that also may be another option if you want to reduce the glare further, hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Hi Larrypint! No, the USB mode is used when connecting the dashcam to your PC using the mini USB cable. However it would be neat to see a future version that could play movies! (I imagine the movie would probably show small, since the mirror is wider than the normal movie picture size)..

Hi B! It's possible your memory car is not fast enough but it also could be an issue with the dashcam. I would recommend contacting Vantop for support. Thanks for the video man, very helpful. I was curious, is there a huge difference between the H612 vs the H612T (the one you have) I ordered the original which has 2.5k front/1080p back. I see in comparisons the big difference is the T model has 4k front/1080p back or 2k/2k, and just a different image sensor. I'm just wondering if the $50 is worth it for the 4k alone.

Hi Alfred! I actually run mine at 2K+2K but even when I tested at 4K the difference was small so if you already have the H612 I would say you would be fine. If you are about to device between H612 and H612T and you don't mind paying extra for just a little more resolution yeah the H612T is a good choice. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Thanks John! I appreciate that! Regarding the display turning off, check two things, unplug and plug again the power adaptor both at the dashcam can and outlet. Also check if voice control is off, sometimes I noticed it can trigger when it miss hears a command and interprets that a turn off screen. Hope this helps and let me know if you figure it out bud!

Hi Enfield! ah yes the infamous glare unfortunately all mirror dash cams are plagued by this to an extent. However here is what I found works good to reduce it. 1st is window tint (sides only not on the rear if camera is mounted inside the car). 2nd I aim my mirror dash cam down towards the rear seats so I don't get the reflection of the bright outside (this assumes your are using the dash cam with the screen on) 3rd is that some mirror dash cams do come with glare reducers like this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIa4i3yZgKmSo8k or this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/mofGl3mMgaiLmLs But so far there are no universal ones since most of this mirrors have custom shapes. However I had other viewers mentions they cut a large screen glare reducer for tablets down to shape. Hope this helps, Cheers!

I’ve taken the SD card out out and played it on my computer; however, I’m unable to send it to someone else via email (partially due to file size), and I would love to be able to post a loop of some cool footage on Facebook but haven’t found a way. Hi El Jefe Slash! ah yes you could reduce the size (file size or even the actual video size in some cases) using editing or compression software. There are paid and free versions out there, the one I use (free) is called handbrake which can also be used to change the file format, dump the sound, compress for use in social media etc. The paid version I also use is called Adobe Premiere. I bought this vantop model 2 years back and put it in the drawer as I did not have a car for it, today I plugged it in it's been hardwired it started recording as soon as I switched the ignition on but as soon as I started driving it flashes yellow with a yellow bar at the bottom of the mirror, what's my issue with it ?

Hi Scott! The yellow bar indicates the G-Sensor has been triggered, your G Sensor setting is probably set to high, I would recommend lowering it as shown on the video as needed. Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@ryanmasters5878 Yeah those are the only two settings. It sounds like you have set your dashcam to stay recording 24/7 by connecting to a constant fuse if I understand correctly. Just remember this will have 2 drawbacks, the first is that the dashcam may potentially drain your battery faster this way, when hardwired to switched power the camera draws very little power as it only comes on when needed. Second one is the SD card will be worn out very quickly, constant writing to them slowly kills them, normal use I see about 6 months to year before they need replacing, that's with only occasional driving, if it's being written to 24/7 it may wear out a lot faster. Let us know if you do decide to keep it this way and if you found it better than switched power my friend!

I have a problem with the SD card! When I turn it on, it says "SD CARD SLOW REPLACE" I have a 128gb sd card with "Read up to 325MB/S; write up to 280MB/S" I don't understand why I have to Format the SD card...Everytime I start it up! Can you please help?

I seen this happens before, this can be causes by either: a fake memory card that does not support the actual specs advertised, here is the video on how to check if it's fake kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKbTlqx5bdtopqs It can also be caused by a worn out memory card that has been in used for a long time. Hi Jonathan! sounds like the GPS is changing your time and date back to the default time zone. You can either disconnect the GPS so it does not override the date and time manually entered or you can set the time zone to your area in the menu under Time Zone to ensure the GPS pulls the correct information. Hi Thelma! the dash cam is always recording both the rear and front views. The saved videos are then sorted into separate folders, which is the reason you only see rear view you want to change folders to the front if you want to the see the front video (tap the folder name towards the top of the screen in video view mode to select a different folder) Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Hi Chicago1! the dash cam will show a mirrored view like a regular mirror does which also includes flipped letters like a normal mirror creates (some emergency vehicles have mirrored text on them so it can be read correctly when seen thru a mirror, if the image is not mirrored that text won't be readable). Hi Jerrold! I run mine at full brightness both day and night, however you could lower the brightness by sliding your finger up or down on the left side of the screen. You could also run the LCD panel complete off while the dashcam still records (I know some people like the stealthy look by running the screen completely off). Hi Michelle! Remember “locked” videos will be saved until you manually delete them. Normal videos are overwritten when the card is full, since you had the camera for a few months now it makes sense it appears there are missing clips because only the locked videos remain, the normal videos (the missing in between clips) got overwritten giving the appearance of gaps. Hi AJ! The mirror is glass so it will have similar reflection to your normal mirror. I have a Convertible. With the top down, the video screen is washed out completely by glare, and you cannot see anything. However , I can tilt the Mirror so I can see the back , by using my mirror without the video. Also, rained today. The camera fogged up and cannot see the video screen. Also headlights from cars in back of me , their lights reflecting on the camera had Splash-Colors and blotched the screen with weird colors. Driving with the top up and no rain does produce an acceptable Video. There is some glare but not a lot.

Hi Emmanuel! Yes some phones do not support codec H.265 unless you download a video player App that supports it. One option to play the video would be to download an app that can read it (there are several free video player apps but they vary if your are on Android or iOS) or like I did, I just changed the recording codec option to H.264 which is an older codec that is supported by most phones from the factory. Hi Nina! yes the rear camera is always recording and saving footage same as the front camera. Regarding hard wire, it is not required for both cameras to start recording automatically. Hi Aaron! I know some dash cams offer a polarizer filter, I haven't seen ND filters yet. However the polarizer will reduce the overall performance of the camera at night (same as ND filters), the issue with license plates is that they are made to be very reflective to the point where they are bright as the headlights that illuminates them at some points. Which makes capturing license plate numbers at night even more challenging that at day. I do have another video coming up where I go over the Pros and Cons of using a circular polarizer filters. You're welcome Superbigbob! Regarding the memory card, I seen this happened with some brands or lower speed memory cards. I been using this one for a while now and it's been working great amzn.to/2FUFJuz Now you will also notice that dashcams will consume memory cards faster than other devices typically they last 6 months to a year before needing replacement but it also depends on how much you are actually driving, if you drive very little little the memory card will last much longer. I have three of theese. But every single one had problem with voice recognition. I mean if i speak with someone in the car on my language (Croatian), camera wont to do something: start recording, take a picture, turn of the screen and so on. So i dont know why they did not make option for firmware or softwer download for that camera. Its old i think its from 2020year 8 mounth.

I haven't tried other languages for the voice recognition, as far as I know it only supports English for voice recognition, unless they have added it on newer firmwares, I'm still on my original firmware. Thanks for a great review. I use this dashcam in my Tesla because the Model S has a small rear view mirror and small rear window, which makes rear visibility pretty useless (I have a video about this). The only downside I have with this dashcam is that it does not tell you how many minutes you have remaining in your SD card to record (I don't use loop recording). For a 64GB SD card, I calculated I can get 3hr14m (when the recording resolution is 4k+HD) and 5hr (with 2k+ 2k). Do you know if there can be a display for this (perhaps a software upgrade), so that users will know how many remaining minutes there is for recording, and when to replace the SD card?

Hi Toofless Tesla! (cool screen name btw!) That's pretty cool man I hope to own a Tesla one day! I can image with this display makes it even more futuristic. I once test drove a Model 3 Performance I can't stop thinking about that car just amazing. Regarding your question I actually have not used the dashcam without loop recording. How did you did turn off loop recording? I would also recommend contacting Vantop, their customer service staff if pretty good maybe they can release a software tweak to enable what you are looking for. But yes, I prefer not to use loop recording if I can help it. I prefer to delete the files myself (because it's amazing what you can actually miss while driving, whereas the dashcam will pick it up).
