Wow so many emotions lately!! This week is a massive undertaking and an incredible milestone for us 😭💛 Watching those panels mount into place had us in tears, all the hard work feels like it’s about to pay off. Excited that this home we are building will sustain itself with the suns energy for years to come. We cannot thank our community enough for the support and encouragement to get here. Not sure if someone already suggested, but saw this suggestion on another video, so came back here to mention it. Put rain gutters on the solar panels, and they can catch rainwater to water gardens, or flushing toilets, or whatever.

Now the long fcld winter will be kept at bay once the panels are hooked up to the batteries, the rest of the solar system and controls. This is the only thing left for true off grid living like it should be done by Vanwives or anyone else. Water, warmth, electricity and food with backups will soon all be in place for a great Winter living off grid in Nova Scotia. You two are now officially sitting pretty! Love you and your girls. It is all paying off for you all now. The best to you and yours - enjoy your first real winter in the great Canadian outdoors! - you deserve it!

Last week you gals were struggling with ground water, how about a well/borehole as a secondary supply if theres that much close by? Borehole won't freeze if you put a shed over it.
