Yeah, I was that guy, for about 7 years! I operated a forklift, in the plant where I worked before I retired! I became pretty good buds with the repair guy! Did you know they had governors on them? I got mine removed 😅! Our warehouse was about 10 acres so we had some long pulls!

Lol I am that guy that sets the governor. I set our lifts at 6 mph because people suck. I am an industrial maintenance tech our second shift industrial maintenance tech somehow did not see a building column and ran the left front tire of a Toyota 3-wheel sit down lift into the column at about 11 mph. It tore the front wheel off of the lift. The parts were on backorder from Toyota for over 6 months till they finally said screw it and swap out our lift for another one. Ever since that episode and another one where someone put a fork through a building column all our lifts are set to 6 mph😂

@@ogt92fromthe1step9maintenance set ours to 4mph because operators were bad drivers. Everybody had to drive them but maybe once a week, even the 5ft 100# grandma. They also put guards around all of the support columns and doorways to keep them from getting hit.

I’ve used them when I was in the Air Force a long, long time ago for spraying cutting oil. We had a custom drilling machine to drill mounting holes in the keel, between the engines, to install F15 style centerline fuel tanks on F4 Phantoms. I was a game changer to make the bits last longer. Good times. Thanks for the update. I forgot all about those.

Retired aircraft mechanic here. I've had mine for about 45 years now. They work great, but you do have to take care of them. Don't drop them or they will leak. Keep the trigger gland tight and the packing well lubed. I've had everything in it too...MEK acetone, methyl chloroform, carbon tet, mineral spirits and kero, no problem.

Great timing, I just bought a pair of them, one for chlorinated Brakleen and one for Gibbs penetrating oil. When I was a dealership mechanic, my last dealership gave us each one of these cans and had a pressurized 55 gallon drum of brake cleaner we could fill with straight through the Schrader valve. It was very efficient.

One shop I worked for, provided the brake clean in that form and I loved it, I still ha e both of my cans in my bottom drawer. Though I don't use them at this point because the cleaner isn't provided by the shop in that form so I just use the crap out of the aerosol cans they provide, no money out of my pocket.... I do keep one at home in the garage and purchase my own because it's so much better, one of these days I will convince the shop into changing their ways.

Hear Hear on the spray bottles being cheap crap that breaks all the time. I've found the best you could ever get are the old Delta 360 ones, but you can't find those anymore. Closest alternative is the Home Depot HD branded "upside down" sprayers. $2 each and they tend to last slightly longer than others. For large-scale sprays, I've found Chapin concrete sprayers to be the best you can get. Yeah, they're big and heavy and you have to carry and pump the can up, but they can put out 2GPM of fluid. And they're metal and USA made, which is nice to find.

It makes it nice that I can leave it out of the combustibles fire cabinet on my work station where as the plastic spray bottles are a hazard around heat/soldering stations. Plus it can hold 32oz which is the exact size amount the flux remover we use comes in.

I got one of these at Harbor Freight recently to use acetone and do clear coat on my C10. I use a bike pump to keep it aired up. I get it to 140 psi and I find I run out of fluid before I need to pump it again. It was perfect for the acetone. No, I did not use it for the clear coat. I finger tight the lid, and it holds air. I leave it pressurized for weeks at a time.

My Dad and I used industrial degreaser in our then-new steel powdercoated parts washer. Couple that with the block heater added on the bottom to make the degreaser more effective, and now the whole tank is a goant rusty mess with the powdercoat peeling off in sheets. That sprayer will definitely have rust issues in no time with water-based degreaser in it, especially if its not emptied and dried out frequently.

I did get the HB branded one and it holds pressure over time very well. I do a lot of work on cars and mowers for family and friends. In a year it’s paid for itself by offsetting the cost of the cans of solvent.

This ain't new. Back in the '60s we used these in filling stations to clean windshields. They were perhaps 1/4 the size though. Like all young idiots who didn't pay attention in Chem and Physics, we would fill them to the brim and wonder why they didn't work after about a half second of air. Hell, we were $.90 an hour gas squirters, the boss clued us in to half liquid and air and things worked fine. I will say the ones we had were better made, cast bodies and quality valves. They were promo giveaways when the boss bought washer fluid.
