Nice work. Easy to follow. Wish you would’ve said why you changed it. What problems lead you to change it

It's an emissions control device. It stores the vapors off the gas until the engine meets certain temperature requirements then those stored vapors are sent to the engine to be burnt. If this device fails or gets too saturated from overfilling your fuel tank it can cause the engine light to come on as well as cause poor fuel economy. Thanks for watching.

Will this work for a 2010 mercury milan hybrid
@ScanMan793 жыл бұрын
I haven't personally worked on the hybrid model, but I would think it would be the same setup for the fuel side of the engine management. If you are getting the same code then that's where I would check/replace first. It's not uncommon for people to want to hit an even dollar at the fuel pump and give it a few extra squeezes and newer cars don't tolerate having a lipping full tank like they did in the old days. I've seen people ruin the charcoal filter with just one or two squeezes past the first click off of the pump after just a few times doing it.

I have one of those and currently no heat. I flushed the heater core but I'm thinking it has something to do with the heater control valve. There's nothing about it in the Chilton manual and no vids about it. The thermostat is acting normally (not stuck open) and the core is not leaking. Maybe I'll just buy the control valve and see if I can find the part on the Milan somewhere

Where is this located? Is it possible that my hanging heat shield loosened something on my canister? I have P1450 code on 2010 Milan
@ScanMan79 Жыл бұрын
This is located under the spare tire tub. I wouldn't think the heat shield would have been able to do any kind of damage to it. Overfilling the fuel (i.e.. clicking to get an even dollar amount) is the most common cause. That said they do have a life span on the charcoal and valves that eventually fail.

@@ScanMan79 Thank you! But not I'm curious. Clicking an even number causing it to overfill where you physically see it spilling out or even if it's not completely full and you click it to get even ? Lmao 🤣 I think I know the answer I just need clarification
@ScanMan79 Жыл бұрын
@@alexissabbagh4049 :) No it doesn't need to be spilling out to be over filled. It's a hard habit to break, but best practice is to fill to the first click then no more than one additional click to "top it off". 😉

Do you know where the fuel tank pressure sensor is located
@ScanMan793 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with that part on this car. You didn't say what year you're working with but for the 2010 the only sensor I'm aware of on the fuel side is the fuel injection pressure sensor and that is located in the engine compartment to the best of my knowledge.

I know what the part does but u didnt say why u change the canister on my car i cant put fuel in it the gas pump keeps stopping was this ur problem as well ?
@ScanMan794 жыл бұрын
No, a bad charcoal canister won't prevent you from putting fuel in the tank. That sounds like the anti-siphon ball that's in the fill tube has gotten stuck. That's where I'd start looking. It's typically down the tube, closer to the tank than the fill port. Some have it right at the tank. I'm not 100% sure on the Milan. I hope that helps get you on the right path to fixing your problem.
