Raj Gauthaman is a leading Tamil intellectual who pioneered new approaches to Tamil cultural and literary history studies in the late 20th century. He has authored twenty research works that analyze the development of Tamil culture from ancient to modern periods with a focus on subaltern Dalit perspectives. He has also written three novels and translated Sanskrit works into Tamil. Raj Gauthaman was a part of the core group of writers and thinkers, many of whom were Dalits, which shaped the thinking of the influential journal, Nirapirikai in the early 1990s.

Mind wants to write so much about G.O.A.T Rajgowthaman , But just by watching the trailer today morning i cried inside a locked room for a minute, His legacy will be in history for ever and his writings are immortal. Pa Ranjith has done a remarkable work by documenting Rajgowthaman's life and done a unimaginable work to Tamil society and literature.He will be first one i must be grateful forever. Hats off to Neelam for sharing his documentary. I wish Dravidar kazhagam(DK) was as active as Neelam. With a single man's vision and money Neelam can take so many initiatives, but DK didn't reached out to people as much. At least from now, DK, DMK (and ADMK) spearhead in sharing Periyar, Anna, Kalaingar, Jayalalitha works. There should be at least few movies (like biopics), few serials, documentaries.
