It’s not because of signal delay but rather combustion delay. The timing stays the same on a stock gx200 regardless of RPM. As piston speed increases the flame front maintains the same speed. At higher rpm the piston is further down the hole before the mixture is burnt. With advanced timing you can start the burn earlier and reach peak cyl pressure at TDC.
