How does the Vario-W+ work with a portafilter? What happens to the scale feature when you replace the bin with the portafilter holder? Is it still able to weight out the grinds into the portafilter? Or Does it transition to time based?

Saw video that basically its useless,times out and gets an error. Getting the Vario+ and just upgrading the burr set.

I had the same question, I think the scale is essentially useless and you’ll need to rely on the timed function when using it with a portafilter. I wish it was like the 270wi, but the W+ has the steel burrs.

pour into PF ... you'll be glad you got this ... have had for years without issue ( prior version ) saves a ton of time and bypasses the silly weighing ritual to deliver great shot

It's just a difference case color. From what I understand both Vario offerings will be available in each color option.
