Varlam Liparteliani is a Georgian judoka competing in -100 kg weight category.
He is one of the most successful Georgian judokas of all time, tough surprisingly he never won World or Olympic gold, he is 2-time World silver medalist, once Olympic silver medalist he also has 2 World Championship bronze medals.
V. Liparteliani is has 8 European Championships medalals (3-gold, 4-silver and 1-bronze), he is also has astonishing 22 medals in IJF World Tour events.
Varlam Liparteliani is famous for his hip throws and various makikomi variations.
