"Charismatic " Teachers are much better than "Skilled" teachers, in teaching students. The Best example is, the KZbinrs who are are teaching content in a more interesting ways are Better at capturing students attention than Skilled Professors from Colleges, great example is comparing the views from IIT Professors from NPTEL, eventhough their Content is much more important. - Distribution will overtake Skill.
@saksham1861
@saksham1861 16 сағат бұрын
That's because human brain have a bias for easier things as compared to things that are hard to do. This can effect the end outcome in a positive or a negative way because the person who seems interesting to students may not be capable enough to teach them all the things they require to for example pass a test. So only the teacher is being benefited and not his students which may end up in him losing his credibility in the long term. There are a lot of other factors too so just assuming that the teacher capturing the most attention right now is better and will always do good is incorrect. The IIT professor may not be getting a lot of views right now but in the long run he may or may not gain a lot of attention he never got.

Depends on your definition of 'better'. As I can assure you, People who are actually smart at that topic and aiming for higher proficiency on it, will by no exception choose the skilled ones, as charismatic teachers are teaching very basic stuff, infact you will notice the difference about the same topic, when charismatic and a skilled teacher teaches. A person who really understands stuff, and feels out it's inner working, has a strange simplicity and way with their words, which triggers a very specific understanding, that becomes more clear with the way they say it. Mind you this is just a comparison b/w charismatic and skilled teacher, so I am not talking about boring teachers who neither are charismatic nor skilled.

As a Software Engineer, I no longer write code myself. Instead, I think about the steps needed to solve a problem and provide those steps to AI to write the code or solve the problem for me.

@@ayushparmar110 To be honest, after seeing the pinned comment that this video could be AI generated. I didn't feel any emotions in it. So, the video was actually boring for me. I watched the full video for understanding his point. Also if you want to know the role of video editing concerning human emotions, just think of the moment when a youtuber becomes sad or happy when telling something. A comedy scene or editing appears when he is happy. And when he is sad, sad type of editing appears. Also making a video attractive enough for audiences to watch, had to be made by a human itself as it involves human psychology. According to me, for educational content with no/less human emotions, AI can be used. But for production of contents where a large mass is involved, human emotions are important. Most Channels with a large number of active subscribers are one such example of that type of content. Thank you for reading this far. In the end, I admit that I may be wrong. But let's find out the answer for ourselves.

Summary: Young people often rely on tutorials and advice from supposed experts to guide their career choices. However, the most cutting-edge innovators are running experimental projects that defy categorization and are often rejected by the masses. 1. Real practitioners: i. Conduct strange experiments that few understand ii. Stay on top of new technologies that don't yet have mainstream jobs 2. The masses: Dismiss these experiments as unrelatable and don't understand their potential Examples: i. AI is predicted to take over creative jobs (2022) - downplayed by masses but now widely accepted ii. AI tools like Alpha CTR and auto code Pro can automate tasks and enhance capabilities iii. GPT-4 model excels in reasoning, boosting coding abilities Implications: 1. Shift in job skills: i. Coding as a manual process is likely to decline ii.Engineers will move into managerial roles iii.Focus on outcomes and revenue generation over inputs 2. Importance of distribution: i. Customers value convenience and accessibility ii. Content creators can leverage AI to build distribution and monetize their work Key Points: 1. Stop listening to the masses and run your own experiments. 2. Embrace responsibility for outcomes and become more like a manager. 3. Insights about what people want are crucial for success. 4. Failure is part of the learning process when testing new ideas and sharpening skills. 5. Chart your own path and focus on understanding what customers truly value.

If AI can write code and solve problems, why would people choose engineers over AI? Eventually, won't AI replace 80% of engineers? I believe only around 20% will remain, and those will be the ones who are already at the top with advanced skills. With so many engineers in the field, this could be a risk for newcomers like me. There's already intense competition with highly skilled workers, and if AI replaces a portion of engineers, the competition will become even crazier. We all know how fast AI is evolving.

Varun ,If possible, could you make a video on how to keep up with the new advancements in AI? Also, if I'm just starting to learn AI, where should I begin? Should it be with algorithms or applications? It's not taught in our college, so we mostly have to rely on KZbin. However, many KZbinrs often make it seem like all you need is one playlist, which can be confusing (maybe it's just me). I often feel like everything I've learned about AI is cool, but irrelevant. All the projects I do are KZbin projects, so how can I think outside the box, correct my mistakes, and move beyond following tutorials? As you know, most of us will not become content creators (for now). What are your thoughts on real AI jobs?

You are not just over optimistic but in a bubble tbh. You aren’t helping anybody, just discouraging many helpless folks from being mediocre in your eyes. But for them it’s satisfactory or even a milestone. For you if somebody’s work is automated they asap lose their value entirely, which might be true during Industrial Revolution but not anymore where a job has more dynamics at play than just a what is, repetitive and mundane work in your eyes. You are scaremongering people with AI when it’s just a tool for making them more productive and making them feel they should give up with this kind of rhetoric. You simply make videos talking X is irrelevant because AI can do X. Instead you should encourage people that AI can help them do X faster. And strive to do X better than what was the norm so far. People like you see any life improving tool like llms as a startup opportunity instead of as a tool for personal growth for the masses. There is so much nuance here and so much to agree and disagree. Putting things into 10 mins video or reels isn’t helping anybody. For going from 60 to 90, most such real practitioners moved from 0 to 60 with the masses and with the same roadmap. Edit: It’s an observation I have been having since the last few videos, like you ranking jobs etc. Yes your llm model may be much nicer than the average mern stack dev but a small subset of them might be really loving their domain, and a smaller subset of them might have the drive to do much better than any of us can imagine. Such rhetoric does more harm than good. I am one of those who would have been severely demotivated and depressed seeing such content in my early days but I’m in middle of things and optimistic that I would rise above the median and be exceptional, and even if I didn’t, I would love my work equally. There are so many things AI can’t accomplish when you are deep enough into STEM domains, but how would you know. Example www.phoronix.com/news/Linux-6.8-Networking For you coding is just opening an empty text file and writing some CRUD boilerplate and pitching it to investors and making money ie just a means to an end, but there is a lot of deep engineering work that goes on with codebases for existing battle tested production facing tools where every ounce of performance, security and maintainability matters. Scaling is another big problem. You can’t just solve these problems by prompting an llm but reach a stage where you can start solving these much faster by prompting an llm for the easier part. For people like you engineering is just another role of creating a purple website but little do you know the kinds of problems people are trying to solve and many of them made a website in their lives, imagine asking them at that point to stop and be a video editor and deprive them of the future opportunities that lie ahead.

yeah i have met people who think ai will either take jobs of dont affect it BUT creative jobs will be affected how? its not they will go away but the thing that differentiated people with creativity was skill, ai has shortened that path so people with more creativity have way more chances of getting in the fields the people who are not creative will go away. creativity is also trying new things limiting yourself is not creativity.

Bro, could you give us a video of things AI cant do? Like listening and grooving to music while moving your body and stomping the ground (Mother Earth) bare foot which in turn charges you up electromagnetically and makes IT want to stomp more coz it kinda 'heals you'. Im thinking this activity might fall under the category of 'Unproductive Acts' for AI and mental health clearly wouldn't be an issue for IT as well. Having said all this, loved the edit to bits. Gonna try for the cohort. Much Love.

Thing is performance at standardised tests doesn't correlate exactly to capacity for producing solutions to real world problems. You need human intelligence for that shit. AI will only act as a performance enhancer of people, ofcourse smarter and more knowledgeable people will be able to leverage it better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think metaverse might actually change the remote work dynamic where even if you are entering a new segment, remote work would not hamper much because think about it, the main benefit of working in an office on premise is that there is a big floor where everyone is sitting working and you can just walk up to someone, discuss ideas, get input, collaborate and execute tasks without going through the hassle of scheduling a teams call and blocking off calendars or looking for free calendar slots... And you cannot do a very big conference call on teams either because everything you speak is now audible to everyone which is just a mess, unlike in office setting where we speak to someone sitting next to us and the voice only reaches so far.... in meta verse you could have people working from home with a VR headset and have them walk up to someone and talk and do all the things in a sort of virtualized office environment and what you speak is digitally dampened to only go so far to mimic the irl office environment... you could have infinite office floor space, infinite audio isolated meeting rooms which, even though audio isolated, anyone can walk right in because it is on the same office floor. Collaboration much?

Varun, I'm feeling confused. If most companies start using AI and lay off many employees, what happens next? The job market in India is already horrific and scary, so finding a job would become incredibly difficult. Many might remain unemployed, and then what

Being from comp sc. and economics background, I have a slightly different take. From a broader perspective jobs aren't going anywhere, they'll just change faces. At the end of the day, all businesses are created to increase shareholder value. If masses lose their jobs, there are lesser customers to sell their products to. They will need to keep the jobs running one way or the other. The change will happen from specialized skills to critical thinking especially for white collar jobs. But that's what my gut says, feel free to disagree.

This is my perspective on the topic, though I am by no means an expert. My opinions are influenced by several people who have been fairly successful in their careers. While I agree with many points Varun made in his video, my agreement lies more in the nuances of what he mentioned rather than the broader statements themselves. Confusing? Let me explain. In my opinion, coding jobs aren’t going away anytime soon-not for at least another 15 years. Those who have been coding for a long time would agree that being a software engineer involves only about 30% actual coding. The rest of the time is spent reading and understanding requirements or code written by others (or even yourself from the past). Most bugs are not caused by minor UI glitches or cosmetic issues, but by misunderstandings of business requirements and misimplementation of features or logic. Even today, with so many people striving to understand business objectives and clearly communicate them, we still face these issues. Now imagine a world where we expect AI to handle these tasks. No matter how many iterations or epochs AI undergoes, if the business requirements aren't crystal clear (by AI’s definition), it will still misinterpret details, leading to suboptimal solutions. So, the real beneficiaries of AI will be us-the ones who use it to build great things. The cost and speed of delivery have significantly improved, but implementing something is still not easy, though it may be simple. Remember, it's simple but not easy. Software engineers will remain in demand for the foreseeable future. Yes, many will lose jobs because we won’t need as many roles as we have today. But here's the thing: humans are incredibly resilient. When faced with challenges or made to feel inferior, we rise and deliver. I believe that as people start losing jobs, they'll band together in small synergies to form enterprises that solve the simple problems they experience around them. In a sense, everyone will become a small business owner. Large corporations struggle to identify and solve such small problems for two reasons: they don’t have enough people to spot these opportunities, and they can't justify spending resources on such research. For most organizations, the next 10-15 years are already planned out, and pivoting isn’t an option, especially with competitors in the same space. That’s why you often see large corporations acquiring startups, even when it's something the corporation could build relatively easily from scratch. In these cases, demonstrated leadership and the ability to execute and sell are valued more than the idea itself. There’s also a limit to human desire. A wealthy person has limited desires, which is why you don’t see rich people buying every car on the market or hoarding material things. It’s not about having more money; it’s about experiences. Even if AI could rapidly change our world, humans move at their own pace. Having more products only means less time to spend on each one. If people spend less time on something, they won’t fully appreciate the value of your product, even if you're constantly releasing new features. For example, when was the last time you checked all the features of your phone? It gets a new update every six months, and apps are updated weekly, but we only use about 20% of an app’s features most of the time(80% time). And that 20% is usually enough to keep the app relevant. For those worried about the pace of technological advancement, I have one thing to say: don’t be. Even if technology could make us fly today, we humans are collectively slow to adopt it. Some will aspire to, but most won’t, and that’s okay because we are the majority. It's like people often say, "That movie was ahead of its time." Similarly, this tech might be ahead of its time, but that doesn’t matter because, ultimately, it has to cater to humans-and we move at a slow pace. So even if the tech can run, it unfortunately has to walk with us.
