Just looks like the website Skyvector. If you want an application for windows to plan routes and such I strongly recommend "Plan-G". Its totally free to download, allows you to plan simple and complex routes and even export them as .pln files compatible with FSX or P3D. You can have it connect to your sim live to track your flight path. In addition, it also generates airport diagrams with taxiways, parking locations, etc.. Directly from your FSX/P3D Scenery. Overall a huge time saver when on Vatsim trying to navigate a complex airfield without needing to google airport diagrams and such. Just a heads up, if you do get Plan-G but the maps show as a blue error, go to the application's options and change the map source from its default selection to OpenTopoMap or OpenCycleMap.

Disagree on the C172 vs PA28 wing. You can easily see forward and to the side all the way to the horizon in a low wing plane. Seeing into the turn is limited on the 172. PA28 circuits are easier than 172 imo. You need to do some funky view point stuff to see the horizon out the left window of a 172. Trackir or vr makes it work. But a pa28 is just a matter of hat switch.
@AviationPro
@AviationPro 5 жыл бұрын
True. In reality this is not really a problem, but in the sim it indeed is. But something like a Baron 58 is a different story in flightsim :P

@@AviationPro well having 1 engine and fixed pitch prop is a good idea obviously lol. irl I liked the archer better too. Encourages looking into the turn, handling on flare was nicer too (more ground effect). Getting in and out is harder tho. 1 door. Have to walk on the wing. Doing preflight you have to crawl on the ground to get to the fuel drain points. In the sky tho, pa28 gets my vote

@musicalaviator Seeing the runway while turning base?! That’s cheating! 😜 Only Skyhawks in my logbook thus far (as you probably guessed). Sooner or later I’ll get to try sitting on a wing instead of underneath it. Can always spot the guys who fly Cessnas. Muttering things like “lift the wing, check for traffic” and absolutely convinced fullest tank is spelled B-O-T-H. 😉

Depends on the mission, really. Study level models (A2A, PMDG, etc.) are great if you want to maximize realism and can handle the complexities that come with that - so, for example, a student pilot practicing for real world lessons - but will overwhelm and frustrate the heck out of everyone else. Less complex models (Carenado, etc.) tend to be more accessible to the casual simmer. Hardware/performance constraints can also be a factor.
