Great effort to teach phraesiology. Getting vfr's in between the big boys is tricky sometimes. Having vfr pilots who know what to do, especially the report ready to turn naar/ extend downwind, are a godsend. Pilots who just turn base in front of a B748 while asking to repeat your instruction to extend their downwind on the other hand...

Nice video with alot of good info! Have you ever tried using track-ir (or another head tracking device)? Ive used it for several years now and it really helps with spacial awareness in the circuit, like you said, you can pop your head down to look under the wing or look over the nose of the aircraft to see where you are coming out on the runway threshold. I really recommend it.

Hi AviationPro, very good tutorial as I fly years on right now but never practiced VFR/circuit flight. Good easy translation of the phrases, but as some other comments, TrackIR is a must for you. I think you should review the ICAO doc 9432, if you are flying as a VFR traffic you don’t have to request any startup clearance , because you are not subjected to eurocontrol slots. I also noticed that you want to follow real-life proc (like magneto check), there’s a more important thing that you have missed : you completely forgot to manage you flaps during the takeoff. Finally I recommend you to reduce the throttle after you reached your cruising speed and altitude, remember: it is not a constant speed prop, so it means that your prop/engine rpm are proportional to your calibrared air speed and your manifold pressure (not shown). If you want to make VFR flights more realistic, you should follow these simple guidelines.
@AviationPro5 жыл бұрын
Startup clearance is required for VFR flights in the Netherlands at controlled airports, as discussed in the theory video. I don't fly GA aircraft often, so in this tutorial series I'm focussing mainly on the procedures, not the aircraft, especially since people can fly a lot of different GA aircraft, so bear with me with those kind of mistakes :)
@bellofello14 жыл бұрын
Managing the flaps in a 172 on takeoff? lul. Maybe if he was doing a soft field take off at max weight or something
@leov47514 жыл бұрын
Requesting start-up is advisable though on bigger airports. You will be warned when ifr traffic load is too high to allow circuits before you waste time and fuel.
@leov47514 жыл бұрын

The dutch standard entry is 90° to the downwind? Seems a little weird ... normal procedure in the countries I've flown in (USA and Germany) is entering the downwind with a 45° angle. This gives you a much better opportunity to dodge incoming traffic on the downwind as you only have to turn 45° either right or left (depending on the traffic pattern).
@AviationPro5 жыл бұрын
Yep, although often ATC might direct you to base instead or you fly some sort of other procedure via specific landmarks.

Hi there Ive been in to sim flying for quite a few years now on and off, (also had a training flight in a real aircraft) had quite a few of the older flight sims but I'm really looking forward to the upcoming release of flightsim 2020 on the xbox series x as i have not had a pc fast enough for some years now and also my older sim gear (stick and throttle) out of date. So my question to you guys is will you be supporting the xbox release in a week or two as i would quite like to set up a vatsim account and get flying with you at some point in the future with some new gear too? I've seen some posts of people using vatsim and i have to say this looks next level.
@LuLeBe2 жыл бұрын
Vatsim currently has no plans to support Xbox. Mainly because the Xbox version doesn't allow interfacing with the vatsim software to transmit data like aircraft position, frequencies and transponder information. And they do have a good relationship with Asobo, so if they were really pushing for it and the community would do so as well, Microsoft could probably fix these issues, but it doesn't seem like enough people care.

Nice video! In real life flight training, is flying circuits the first step during training in air? (After learning to taxi and taking off)
@markusthl5 жыл бұрын
No the first step is basic airwork like normal turns, steep turns, climbing turns, stalls etc.
@TheMack5 жыл бұрын
Markus Oh, that makes sense, thanks!

So what do you mean by "information E"? I know it's related to ATIS but not sure what exactly.
@AviationPro4 жыл бұрын
It's simply put an identifier of the ATIS. When something in the ATIS changes, it gets a new identifier as per the next letter in the alphabet. That way you know that if you have information E, but information is now F, that you should listen to the ATIS again because it has updated to F.
