no they are always portrayed as UBER powerful and only restrained by their inability to directly affect the materiel world so summoning them would make them defeatable or just end the universe (a greater deamon is only a sliver of the pwoer of a chaos god)

Aura Dragon it most definitely is Bear in kind, it is no easy task. And summoned demons are treacherous, waiting for a chance to rebell against the ones that forced them into the material realm. While this is true for all demons it is especially true gor those of Kharneth.

I'm pretty sure Khorne was the second chaos god to begin forming after Nurgle, who's essence has existed since the birth of life and death, but was in fact the first one to be "born" as a full fledged god around the time of the crusades with Nurgle soon after, who then triggered the Black Death

I don't no about mortal followers of Chaos, but Daemons and Tyranids tend to avoid each other because they cannot feed off one another, plus the shadow in the warp makes it hard for Daemons to manifest.

Burdie Birdie Pure Deamons vs Tyranids happend only once (and someone might correct me) as a tear was caused in the warp during or before war between the humans and tyranids. It is so rare because fighting each other is not benificial for either faction, since deamons can't corrupt tyranids and tyranids can't eat deamons, so they don't fight that often. battles between chaos forces (usually space marines or gaurd) happens more often since there actually is something to gain for both factions and some chaos warbands like to involve deamons. It could also happen more often then we know, as neither Deamons nor Tyranids keep records for the imperium to find later, but that is just speculation.

I always thought the Chaos Gods, except for Slaneesh, were born out of the carnage and destruction of The War in Heaven. That they were created by the Old Ones to be psychic weapons against the C'Tan who lost control of them, or maybe all that energy and death came together to form a new entity.

Peter Quint as far as I have been able to devise what people believe is life after death becomes their afterlife unfortunately if you don't believe in an afterlife and not enough other people believe such a thing exist then you go to the warp to get fucked over by the ruinous powers and Emperor help you if you don't start worshiping one of them because then you just become a mindless fury that just kills and kills without thought or control having lesser worth than the most weak and pathetic of cultists

You are most likely to spend a short time as a ghostly shell of your former self, drifting on winds of the warp before some lower warp entity or chaos demon devours your helpless soul. Of course Slaanesh demons are into the torture thing, so if you find nonexistence more unpleasant than eternal torture they have you covered. Only the very powerful few would be able to manifest themselves and fight off the warp gribblies but then you are far more likely to attract the attention of the chaos gods or greater demons and get screwed by the whole being eaten, servitude or torture thing anyway. Even the emperor is no sure bet if you are human and drank enough of the "for the emprah!" coolaid during your life, he might still be consuming souls instead of saving them in some sort of grimdark heaven realm, after all Saint Celestine is the only known imperial "demon"... The 41st millennium sucks, then you die and it sucks even harder.

Blame angron, he was all about axes, so the World Eaters also used them quite a bit, which means a lot of his berserkers now use them in the 40k timeline, hence the profusion of axes in his armies (it may also be something to with the Bloodthirsters using axes, but who knows).

Major Dakka Actually no it isn't, as the orks enjoy battle and killing is more of a good side effect for them. Orcs usually want their opponent to fight as long as possible, since they can enjoy the fight longer (and the fight is more challeging) They are also known to retreat when their warboss is slain, so 'they can fight another day', Then they usually start fighting their own kind, as they get bored and want to fight and don't have a leader to direct them to a non orcish target. Another good example are non close combat orks: the flash gitz, lootas and slugga boys, who seem to care more about shooting living targets then actually hitting them. And the rarer commando breed who takes pleasure in ambushing and outsmarting their foes.

So there's something that's never really sat right with me concerning the "birth" of the Chaos gods. Khorne, Tzeentch, and Nurgle were all created (seemingly by humanity) sometime around Earth's ancient to medieval periods, whereas Slaanesh was birthed during the height of the Eldar empire. My query is: how is it that the "weakest" of the gods was birthed by a galactic-spanning empire of powerful psykers, whereas the three "stronger" gods were created by (at the time) some insignificant backwater feral world with a smattering of a few psykers at most? Did the big three just start as lesser daemons and increased in power as humanity began to spread through the galaxy? Are their origins in 40k wrong and they've actually always been around a la WHFB/AoS? Or is it just a case of "its the Warp, I ain't gotta explain shit"?

Weston Parker the other 3 have been around for alot longer than Slaanesh so they view her as kind of an upstart who got lucky it doesn't help that in a universe where everyone is fighting, surviving, and hoping for a better tomorrow most people don't have time to enjoy life's simple pleasures making her the weakest and least influencal chaos god

They were not created soley by humanity, they were created by the strife of the galaxy at large, which was not as populates as today, but had a lot more minor xenos races that existed in a state of war back then and had finally repopulated the galaxy after the Old Onels War in Heaven vs the Necrons, but before the greate purges humanity made of those minor races in the Dark age of Technology 13-18 thousand years later before the age of strife. It was then we replaced those minor races as the primary mortal fuel for the chaos gods. Just because we were sword wielding saveages at the time dosen't mean the galaxy wasn't teaming with war and darkness fueling the birth of the Gods.

I really loved Exterminatus Now's take on his parody, namely how he's gone and dropped his Brutal Berserker motif in favour of an Armchair General, since in his world, technology has made glory in battle unappealing, so the only people that worship war are the out-of-touch officers who don't see battle first-hand and wargaming nerds. Meanwhile, his old motif didn't evoke "badass warrior" so much as "drunken soccer fan".
