Thinking of painting my calipers how do you take them off?
@retrorestore8 жыл бұрын
+michael jagger Normally just a couple of bolts that hold them on. Cheers Martin
@jaggass8 жыл бұрын
retrorestore Ill check sometime but i cant disconnect the brake hose ill lose fluid and they will need bleeding.
@retrorestore8 жыл бұрын
michael jagger You can paint them in place if you don't want to disconnect them.
@jaggass8 жыл бұрын
retrorestore Might do that. Disc brakes all round so will have to mask off the brake pads.

I have a clonk from the front ( what sounds like passenger side ) of my car especially noticeable around roundabouts as its a long repeated clonk, and on uneven roads and speedbumps... would you say this could possibly be the issue @retrorestore?
@retrorestore4 жыл бұрын
Hard to say without checking it but it could be droplink, broken suspension spring, anti roll bar bushes or CV joint. You'd need the car jacked up to check these things.
@adamgravestock95034 жыл бұрын
@@retrorestore thankyou for the time. il jack it up and give it a wiggle n see what moves the most

Great vid, I would however recommend an OE or quality pattern brand for this link type such as Febi or FAI. They are very very common and you may find with the spurious ones they just don't last, I must have done them 4 times in the 3 years I had mine until paying a little extra for a Febi one and it's still on 2 years later (sold the car to a friend so still know it). Also Can't wait for the 3 wheeler project videos to start!
@retrorestore8 жыл бұрын
+rj57and This is supposed to be an OE pattern but as you said, time will see. I cant wait to start them as well. Cheers Martin

What's up Martin, doing my droplink today, top one came off fine, but really struggling to get ratchet in bottom one? Did you use a long type socket? Thanks
@retrorestore8 жыл бұрын
+batista999 On the bottom one, I used a standard socket but I slid a tube over the wrachet for more leverage as it was tight. Cheers Martin
@royburridge38256 жыл бұрын
If you don't have a thin spanner or very thin style socket for the bottom nut , believe me - forget it ! There's about 2-3 inches to work with in every direction.
