Vauxhall Corsa D 1.3 Diesel Injector change and Coding

My car suddenly started making a tapping noise with a musty smell emitting through the vents. I've been told by a mechanic that the injectors is the problem. Still contemplating if I should attempt it myself though? Your video was great. Well explained with the correct sizes for removal & good visual content as you worked on the car. Did you ever attempt this? Hopefully you looked at if there are any obvious leaks, and where they are. In my case, it's not the injector leaking, but rather the connection between the injector and the high pressure rail on cyl 4. The other problem is whoever worked on this engine before me was a maniac, and managed to damage the threads on the fuel rail for cylinder 3. Before the cyl 3 rail's threads gave out completely, the engine made a periodic tapping noise, there was the smell of warm diesel evaporating from the hot cylinder head, and black soot left where the diesel came sputtering out and touching the hot valve cover.

Thank you for making this video I replaced the fuel injector on my corsa today and used your video as a guide. I connected a battery charger to the battery to keep the voltage up to 14v that make reprogramming the injector very easy. Thanks again for sharing the video.

Keep them in the same order as they are coded. Although all injectors are made the same, they would have small discrepancies so coding would adjust that.

Please note : the copper washer has a slight dome to it. The dome side should go to the injector with the flat side on the cylinder head. If you get it back to front it will not seal.

How's she goin'? I guess it's the usual case where you have a lot of work to do before you get to what you want to work on!!! Nice job. The injectors came out pretty easy I'd say!!! That was handy. The re-programming took some time and when I get to a step like that I always think I must have messed something up and I start to try a whole bunch of things to get it to work. That's when I cause more problems. You were wise just to let it do it's thing!!! Thanks for posting!!!

Thanks Buddy, Yeap that engine block and where the ecu seats was super dirty and I was a bit concerned about any rubbish fallen into the cylinder, coding was a bit of learning curve specially making a mistake with battery voltage no being above 13v but we got it in the end 😊😋 cheers mate 👍👍👍

Great video extra you explain.Are the numbers of the nozzles from the chain in the order of 1,2,3,4 to me, the serviceman said that the first and second nozzles are not valid, they are probably the same in number as the ones from the video

Hi, can you confirm that on all ""fiat" 1.3 diesel engines cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 from left to right (1 being closest to chain and belts, and 4 being closest to high pressure fuel pump and gearbox)?

Thanks a lot! Do you have a video showing how to identify the faulty injector? My corsa is running rough and smoking a lot, I suspect I need to replace one or more injectors, all have the same resistivity and sound all the same to me, maybe there is a clogging issue..

losFondos I don’t bud but if the car starts you should be able to identify the faulty one scanning the car... Otherwise I normally remove the injector and crank the car to see the spraying pattern .

Hello my friend, very good video. How did you vent the car in the last step? come from Germany and can hardly understand what is said in the end. Have my Corsa replaced the complete injection unit and the control unit. There are no more error codes stored but the car does not start. The mechanic thinks that the injectors are activated too early, I think it could be the same problem as with your car. I would be very grateful for an answer. Greetings

Also I have had trouble removing the injector. So I've ordered a slide hammer. If I have to remove the solenoid from the injector. Does it need recoding when put back together or will it be fine.thanks

I have to do this on my corsa. When you supplied the second power source from another car to keep the voltage up past 13v in order to programme the injector, did you have the engine running on the second doner car or did you just have the jump leads connected and the engine off?

Mine sticks between 1200-1600 rpm it seems piston misfire due to fuel injection , when I put fuel system cleaner it’s fine for some time but it happens again , tested injectors, thy are fine, tried new pump , changed fuel filter, checked most pipes , thy aren’t loose, tried cleaning egr, it drives fast when it crosses 2000rpm , 90mph is not a problem for it, but ASAP goes down to 1200 rpm it really struggles to move up but when it crosses 1700rpm and stays above it’s fine. Funny thing is there are no codes on ecu, tried many testers even very expensive ones, What do you think what could it be

Why do injectors need to be programmed? So weird the things they do. I had the same ECU issue. What a stupid place to install an ECU.

Hi mate got some injectors now the car Starts first go no problem but after about 5min engine starts shaking and cuts out like is been starved of fuel could It possibly be that sensor in the rail also lots of black smoke no code on diagnostic really starting to p me off now Any help is really appreciated

Gaz Jacko how frustrating mate ... well the black smoke is kind of normal after the first start that will clear after a while, now the car cutting out make sure you have fuel pressure and check the fuel filter as well

I had a misfire scanned the car it came up with injector number 2 fault, I swap the connector with number 1 injector scanned the car again and the fault moved to number 1 so it was a confirmation of wiring integrity was good. 👍👍👍👍
