Nicely done Matt, the wrong person on this diagnosis could have cost this man a lot of money. So well done on figuring it out efficiently 👏👏👏💪💪

Hi Peter, I forgot to say in the video that he had already had the power steering replaced at a garage. I can't say that it wasn't needed at the time because I wasn't there. He is really happy with it now. Cheers Matt

@@mechanicmatt871 the parts canon had been shot before you got there 😬 Anyway you made it look very easy, definitely due to experience & skill. Fair play Matt 😉

Great job Matt. Knowing the CAN loops in and out of the ABS on the Vauxhalls is the key

Great fix my First impression was earth back feeding because of light in cluster. This was an unusual combination of fault's.

Not seen that before and you xan see how it would easy send you off kilter had you not got the abs fault codes. Used ecu testing myself and found them to be very helpful. What break out wire kit do you have there matt as looks very comprehensive.

Interesting video matt..curious how u bled the pump,did u just pressurise the system then crack the pipes open ?
@mechanicmatt8712 жыл бұрын
I started with letting the brake fluid gravity feed to the pump as I screwed the brake lines in, then I connected the pressure bleeder and cracked off each line out of the pump, one at a time to get all air bubbles out. Thanks for watching

Had this happen to my 2011 1.4T SE. Nobody could work out what it was, including vauxhall. I changed the coolant tank as it is above the ABS, and it had small cracks which leaked under pressure. Covered just over a thousand miles in it issue free. However, it happened again today ☹️🤬

Driving the car and and code 68 came up, Steering disabled along with the electronic handbrake deactivating and the service spanner, stability control, ABS lights and engine light. After it had been parked for a few hours everything was back to working normally, than I went to garage they put computer to diagnose code again came up and it will not go. nobody able to recognise the problem some saying mechanical fault (steering pump and abs faulty, some are saying electrical fault. Today I went one they saying replace or repair ECU unit. Please advise what I can do in this situation.

I changed my coolant tank as it leaks onto the abs pump module. Been fine for a thousand miles, but went again today.

I've got the exact same problem. Been in the garage for 9 months. Supposed to be fine but today broke down with my disabled brother in the car. RAC took 3.5 hours to arrive, and by that time it was fine again. Did you manage to fix yours or find the cause?

So you jumped the can bus lines together then checked the digital signal with your oscilloscope? Never done this before to confirm a failed unit but will bear it in mind. Thanks

Yes I didn't join the can hi to the can low, this car has two pairs of can wires at the abs module, if I just unplugged the abs module it would leave some other modules on the car with no communication, so joining the can hi to the other can hi and the can low to the other can low I kept the other modules communicating. When the abs was plugged in it corrupted the communication to other modules and that resulted in the power steering not working. Thanks for watching
