I always used to put too much screen wash in and eventually it turned to jelly in the bottom... I've learned my lesson.

The extra plug would be for li,e the gsi astra for headlamp washers as vauxhall used the same looms across all the range

There's a filter in the bottle it gets clogged up. Common issue on Astra H too. I use Zoflora in the bottle with the screen wash helps kill the bacteria that builds up and causes the sludge and bad smell.

That filter in the washer bottle is the same on Vectra B & C's, Corsa C, D & E, Zafira A & B so far to the cars I have worked on for info, a little tip, change the spray nozzles to Insignia mist nozzles 😉

I had this same issue on my vectra (being blocked) took the filter out and blasted it from the top with a hose pipe and then reconnected it. I believe you can swap the jets for mist ones which are better and use less screen wash

in oz i always add a dash of dish liquid in my bottle..it keeps it clean and helps remove the bugs and makes the wipers run smoother..not much maybe a teaspoon or a bit less.

Get the insignia washer jets. Spot on upgrade around about £3 and put a mist over the windscreen

You should have took the wheel off, take the rubber seal out and cut the filter off job done

If you do that next you have the pump and then the nozzles blocked. At least with the filter you know the crap is always going to be in the same place. Lada Samaras used GM components in the 90s without the filter and the system was always blocked. I have a 1997 Corsa and the owner before me used normal water containing a lot of calcium and the filter saved the whole system.

You can't because not only will it break the pump with the crap but it's also a water seal so if you remove it, it will just leak

That would work very well at first, but as soon as dirt is pumped through, the next step is to clog the nozzles. Larger dirt particles then damage the pump. Believe me, the filter is better in the long run ;-)

Do you know how to replace the hose for the washer fluid in an Astra H? Mine is broken and the end of it is stuck in the scuttle. It's one of the few things the Haynes book doesn't cover.

Every1 suggesting insignia washer jets haven't told you how much of a shit they are to adjust without the proper tool, Unless you can make 1 from a pen, it's do able, just have loads of old pens, the tool is around £8
