Lots of instructional detail. Enables the job to be completed safely by a DIY'r with the correct tools and common sense. Thanks Andy

Perfect guide for me as I have the 2009 Diesel Corsa D. Just as an addition for those watching in 2021 - if you want to correctly torque the two bottom bolts they are 105Nm.

Very clear and detailed:) my corsa D doesn’t need the springs changed yet but after watching this I know what to do now, thanks:)

Great info. Did both front coil springs on mine today. First time I've done this and it took me 4 hours. Straight forward to do. Saved loads by doing it myself.

I just checked, if I was to take my car to a garage they would charge me £260 to do both front coil springs. This looks a fairly simple job and I can get 2 springs on eBay for £40 so better to do it yourself

Hi James, thanks for the great comments. Bear in mind compressing the springs, this takes time and go careful! That's the trickiest bit of the whole job!

I took my tigra to the garage to change front spring and they replaced it 5 times the 1st 2 times to big spring and broke the top mount twice and then put a spring on that was to soft and scrape over speed bump and now they think it's fix just wondering what problems can it cause putting wrong spring
@junkendriven2 жыл бұрын
That sounds unusual! Springs can become brittle on extreme cold and hot weather and when shocked hard (heavy speed bumps, etc) but even so that doesn't sound right

Got a 2013 version of this car that I need to change the front-left spring on. What specs is the spring using that you changed with?. Mine broke the exact same way.

Would you recommend buying these springs off eBay ? They are half the price as the ones from eurocarparts
@junkendriven2 жыл бұрын
I've bought both and I can't honestly say there is a lot of difference. The Corsa seems to eat springs so cheaper since you end up replacing frequently!
@jamesmcrory34192 жыл бұрын
@@junkendriven ive got the manual spring compressors but i heard they are dangerous, i just invested in a hydraulic spring compressor looks soooo much easier and safer
@junkendriven2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesmcrory3419 they're not the best, yeah I've used manual and the hydraulic freestanding ones, hydraulic makes it effortless so well worth it especially if you're going to keep doing your own springs on your cars. Good luck and let us know how you get on
@pedrodedgud89234 жыл бұрын
You forgot to locate the top rim of the gaiter in place before tightening the top nut didn't you? Go on admit it. All of a sudden it was in place, which is impossible to do if you tighten that top nut. You can't kid a kidder!!
@junkendriven4 жыл бұрын
haha, I think you're right! It's been a while but watching back good point you make!
@pedrodedgud89234 жыл бұрын
@@junkendriven Well said, don't worry I did exactly the same last week when I did the nearside on my corsa! So then it's clamps on again to compress the springs, then put the gaiter in place, all time consuming. But hey, I'm all clued up for when I do the other side!! Kind regards.
