I have the exact same thing on my Corsa. Got a Rear right C0050 code changed the sensor and the ABS light Is still on, took the wheel hub off and the ABS ring has a groove/channel worn into by the same spring, got a new hub coming and a fresh set of brake shoes for both sides. I hope it sorts it!

Does the new nut have tabs on it that require bending to prevent the nut from coming loose? Older cars had split pins for this task.
@aaanton114 жыл бұрын
Not on this style, you would have a castle nut on a adjustable bearing, Taper bearing, this is just done up tight as its a sealed bearing. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Hey Anton another great video, I noticed in a previous video you replaced the abs wire sensor, was it this issue that was actually causing that issue? Or was the abs wire faulty also?
@aaanton113 жыл бұрын
This was the root of the problem, the spring had worn the sensor ring away, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Would you now adjust the shoes up to the drum or the adjusters and then take the slack out of the cable ?
@aaanton114 жыл бұрын
You can adjust the shoes up if you want, but if everything is working fine I like to leave alone, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

So you don't need to put any grease on the new bearing....you just fit it out the box ?

Great video 👍 have you ever had an ABS fault only happening when the vehicle exceeds 60mph then disappears after and switching off the ignition. 60mph and on again?
@aaanton114 жыл бұрын
I would definitely take off the rear brake drums and check the brake shoe springs are not interfering with the sensors, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Have exact same fault!

Kerry Bowles turned out to be the steering position sensor, relating to the indicators being unable to self cancel

Great video, my Mother In Law has an 04 Corsa where the ABS light has been on for a few days and now the Speed isn't registering on the gauge. would this be the same fault or an additional fault? Her Handbrake doesn't much in the way of movement either.
@aaanton115 жыл бұрын
This can cause the speedometer to stop working, definitely worth checking, thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻

@@aaanton11 thank you for the quick reply, may I ask how? Is the speed sensor located there?

Good job buddy, did the driver report any "humming" or other noise while this was rubbing? I have this kinda noise so I think I want to check these rear bearings on mine (2017 Corsa E) Mine is under warranty but it's been in and out without being fixed *main dealer* lol Good work again, honest & good caring job
@aaanton116 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, there was no noise on this one, I suspect yours might be tyre noise, I know that sounds daft but it is common and can sound like a bearing noise, try swapping tyres front to back and see if the noise changes👍🏻👍🏻
@barrym09276 жыл бұрын
Howdy, I rotated all the tyres so they're all changed but the noise didn't change. Looked at buying a "chassis ear" thing to see what wheel this noise is coming from but they're really expensive, i'd even rent one for a day to narrow this down a bit. Fed up giving it to Vauxhall. This noise hasn't got any worse though so that's a plus. Really need to inspect the rear drums/bearings and will do shortly. Cheers again.
