Very pleased with our Viva. Our overall fuel consumption is only 5 mpg short of Vauxhalls claimed 63 mpg. The tyres are the same size as our previous Astra. No other small basic car has such huge tyres! Cruises happily at 70 mph on the motorway. (just under 3500 rpm). Enough 'go' for us old dodderers. Unlike the new Corsa you can change a headlamp bulb without the hassle of removing the front end of the car!

I will also add a point about load space. Who really measures how big the boot is? Seriously, I just go and do my shopping, open the boot and put the bags in. Never had a problem with any car. Ive not stood there saying "wish I could fit one more bag in" or something. In the real world, most normal people are not going to avoid a car because there is 2 inches less boot space than a rival model.

Hard and scratchy plastics? Get tired of hearing amateur reviewers saying this. Plastic IS hard, and only scratches if you SCRATCH it with something.

Great car ours is five years old and giving us great service lots of character and really grown to love it as our second car, good on fuel, nice to drive smooth gearbox. A great loss to the Vauxhall line up. It’s all retained value is better than any car I’ve owned. £8400 new offered £7000 today five years later, you don’t need to buy a Porsche or Morgan to get a high residual! Good review too!

The SE Viva can actually take out the back seats completely making it big enough to squeeze in a folding mountain bike.

it pisses me off she slates it off quite a bit, but I drive it as I was given one for christmas. It's lovely, comfortable, and doesn't cost £2000 to insure like an Up or Skoda Citigo, for £6000 you can't expect a stylish interior (how much mine cost), and yet there she is complaining about the interior, I personally think it looks very modern and love it. I hate car reviews with a passion because most reviewers are used to being sat in far more expensive cars.

i got my viva just for town driving i agree its not all you want out of a car but is cheap its attractive and the smallest car i ever bought the plastic inertia is ok i agree that its a rough feel to it but for a town car ideal , now as you get out onto the faster a roads and m ways it becomes noisey and theres some extra concentration needed to steer the car i would put it as a 50 mph car best try to keep your speed down a little try settling into the lt lane i know the acceleration is slower but i dont think its made for speed if you do 70 well its noisey

What is the difference between the Adam and the Corsa honestly I can't tell the difference?
@leoollier32803 жыл бұрын
The Adam is smaller and is only available as a 3 door where as the corsa is available in 3 or 5 door and is bigger in size

Her accent's a bit too 'birds of a feather' for reviewing ("cruise controhhh, climate controhhh"). As for the car, as Craig Revel-Horwood might say, it's "bland, bland bland daahling".

They can call it "Opel", all they want. The facts remain, this is build in Korea and is sold as the new Chevrolet Spark in the rest of the world. Nothing wrong with that as such, however Opel should not lie to their customers with adverts claiming, it is a "german" car.Also as with the rest of these A-segment cars, people should really consider, if they can afford to upgrade themselfes to the B-segment. Maybe even a slightly used B-segment car. Like the Corsa. These A-segment cars are budget cars rather than just small cars, except maybe for the Fiat 500. And while they are generally ok, if you just want basic transportation, it really is a case of WYPIWYG (what you pay is what you get).

Dreadful review which makes the car look a lot worse than it probably is to most buyers. What Car magazine are just as bad. Every small car is rubbish in there eyes, unless its the Fiesta or Polo. Extremely biased.

all these cars look exactly the same. get a fiat 500, nicest car on the market.
@oddities-whatnot8 жыл бұрын
The 500 is the best, but I do think Fiat need to bring out a new engine for it. Ive had a few of these, plus Pandas. The twinair is an odd car, because the power delivery is in a very narrow rev range, so it becomes a bit unrelaxing after a while in town driving, although at speed on the motorway it is refined and settled. The diesel is too noisy, I had that in the Panda 4x4, it was awful on the motorway. Anything more than 60 and it was revving far too high in 5th. Made motorway journeys a tiring episode. The 1.2 is not a bad engine, and is okay on the motorway once you get up to speed, but it is a bit underpowered and feels somewhat dated now. Not as smooth as you might think either. I currently have the Abarth version, and it is superb, best car ive had in years. As for the standard 500 I was mentioning a new engine, and I do think they should maybe bring out a 3 cyclinder petrol. Seem very popular, with a great sound and smooth power delivery across the rev range.
