The results were pretty good with your SI screen with the lights off. I am unable to find an ALR screen bigger than 120 inches. Would you recommend a white screen to use with the VAVA for a light controlled room?
@Lacking_something4 жыл бұрын
I'm after best image quality for 80+ inches (approx). TVs have come down in price a lot over last few years but they're so big they take over the room. My projector screen can be rolled away which is a big plus in my mind. I like the idea of ultra short throw projector, but they have to have zoom (rather than needing to move it physically away from wall).

if you had the choice between VAVA 4k vs epson 6050ub for 135 inch screen which one would you consider? I dont mind paying the $4k for the epson 6050ub

I just think these short throw projectors are just awesome. Great for guys like me that have small theater rooms. 25k hours, that is cool. Great looking unit. Have a great one Chris!

Can the VAVA support a 160 inch diagonal screen? I know it's a recommended 150 inch display, but would the 160 inch screen still work?
@ThatHomeTheaterDude4 жыл бұрын
i wouldnt. It has a hard time with unified focus at 120inches

Do you have any screen recommendations? I cannot seem to find anything that supports UST ALR over 120 inches. Anything out there for 150 inches? Thanks!

Hi guys ! I need your opinion in something, I currently own 2 SVS PB-2000 & Klipsch 504 Center... and very crappy L-R as well as surrounds... Should I get a Pair RP-600M Bookshelf with a pair of RP500SA for atmos on top of the bookshelf (and potentially send those to surround back in the future ) OR get a Pair of towers now like the RP-280FA with atmos enable ? (and then worry about the surround in the future ) The price is almost the same, but the bookshelf are like 3 years newer and better horn... but in the other hand the towers are two 8 inches with a 6.5 inches atmos enable I believe- will those towers will be good for a few years or always better buy as new as possible if that means getting small woofers... Thank you all !

Pretty sweet projector. My wife uses it in her lit living room with that screen, and has really enjoyed it. She is not going to like it when I nab it away from her. Thanks man!

Beware that VaVa 4k dont have MEMC (or other named Skill) so fast Movements (sports/action) have small smearings. You can see this also here on this video at the action movie scene. Some a bit higher UST Projector have this.

I thought a ALR screen was a short throw screen? You talk like they are two different things. Should I look for a ALR screen or a short throw screen
@BYOOx54 жыл бұрын
no, you will need a CLR screen, ALR does not work for short throw. keep in my that short throw and ust projectors tend to have lesser black levels.
@ThatHomeTheaterDude4 жыл бұрын
technically what you need is just a simple UST screen. UST screens by design are a form of ALR.. Just ALR screens do not give you the same benefits of a ust screen. ALR screens were designed to be used with traditional long throw projection. That should help you out
@macho95564 жыл бұрын
@@BYOOx5 So would a grey screen help more with darker blacks? Albeit probably at the cost of some brightness I guess.
@macho95564 жыл бұрын
@@ThatHomeTheaterDude I am heavily eyeing the new Optoma CinemaX Pro. Would a grey screen work better for deeper blacks?
@BYOOx54 жыл бұрын
you are on the right track friend, a few things to consider: darker/grey screens will in fact give you darker and better blacks. The overall image will be darkened but this will be less of a problem if you go with a clr creen because it will block out ambient light. A downside of a grey screen is that: for what you gain in the blacks, you will loose equally in the highlights. They don't increase contrast, they just shift it. But generally it is worth having the deeper blacks in my opinion.
