I think one of the reasons these home carpet cleaners get a bad rap is because they are designed to spray cleaner and then immediately suck it back up in one movement. There is a reason professional carpet cleaners pre-spray, agitate, let dwell, and then extract. The cleaner needs time to work before it is extracted. If I were to buy one of these machines, I would pre-spray and agitate with a brush, then wait a bit before extracting with only hot water in the machine.

It's better to bonnet the carpet with something like a Oreck orbiter then extract with a decent extractor.

I have the US version of the Bissell Hydrowave called here the JetScrub. I remember during your initial unboxing and review you were put off that it did not come with a hard floor kit. Here in the US Bissell sells a JetScrub Pet Hard Floor Kit Model No: 2835 directly from their website which includes the Hard Surface Nozzle, Hard Surface Brush Roll and some surface cleaner for $40 dollars. I bought it and can say it works well on floors. You can probably get that for the Hydrowave in the UK. I just thought you might like to know.

Nick O look on amazon you can get 120v Numatics on there too but even then you’d have to pay like 400 bucks cos of shipping, plus the 500 bucks of the actual machine so that comes out to 900$

I have always liked the older Vax models better than the new ones. You should totally do a vax shampoo head video and test which head cleans better out of all the ones they made.

I had the bissell in American, and we used an Electrolux scrubber first then use the Bissell to soak up the dirty solution with water, then we would rise the carpet.

Is it possible that the de-foamer powder gets sucked in to the pre-motor filter before any water enters the canister? Would it not be best to mix with a very small amount of water to “weight it down”?
