Fun fact: I use those remote kits too. Did you know: you can train the garage button on the roof on the 4th gen to raise the body with one button and train the second button to lower the body. I use them remotes for my airbags to along with 12v solenoid valves to let the air in/out.

Seriously. Shopping for one last few weeks, ouch. Basically why I clicked on the video, I wanted to see what a cheap dump trailer was.

Sam, one item that most people don't check when buying a dump trailer is the box pivot point. When you dump your old style trailer, the pivot is so far forward that the back of the box is almost hitting the ground when all the way up. This is really annoying as you can't get a pile to stack up when dumped. The new trailer appears to have the pivot back further so that the body clears the ground by 10 to 12". Can't really tell the exact amount from your video. It definitely makes it easier to get a higher pile, whether it is gravel or wood. And you won't be hitting the lights and other items on the ground.

You can’t go wrong with a gooseneck dump. My 14’ bumper pull never seemed settled when towing on the highway. The gooseneck pulls.... well..... like a gooseneck. Plus it’s easier to put it on jobs that need some special reverse moves🤷🏻‍♂️

Concrete guy here. Have. 14’ deck over Diamond C. It has fold down sides. Trailers perfect for demo jobs with a mini. Fold down the side and “place” big pieces of concrete in the trailer. 💪🏽

Diamond C makes a fine trailer, I would like to have one. However, I don't care for their tail gate. Spreader chains are too high up on the gate, only two door hinges on the tall sides and only one S-cam lock. I agree on the 18'. My 22k x 16' PJ is too short to load 16.5' logs, the popular length. I also added a second pump. The slow dump cycle of one pump is crazy slow.

Diamond C is nice but lots of money lol. I run a 2020 16ft 14k iron bull gooseneck dump for demo company. Weights about 5500 ponds tow with my 2018 2500 ram.. just got my cdl permit and now looking for a bigger trailer 😅 😂 might be time for a dump truck. Enjoy the channel thanks for the content 🤙🏽

@@t.oorndorff7775 it’s been a great trailer for 2 years… I first got a 14ft 14k bumper pull but loading with 5 ton+ didn’t feel safe lol so I traded it in for the gooseneck very heavy duty. Only problem so far is Both trailer jacks went out but already order them. Trailer has 3 year structural warranty. Overall great trailer but now looking for something bigger

I see one thing with the new trailer, your hoist my not do what you want with the box being a bit longer . We have a three axle dump with the hing pins two feet from the back and a ten ton hoist and 16 foot box , we leave two feet of floor space at the front of the trailer because if you fill the front up with any dirt or gravel the hoist won’t lift the weight. Your box is hinged at the back and you are two feet longer . Just saying on your first heavy load be aware about front loading . I learned the hard way and had to shovel the front back . Great looking trailer and do hope your hoist is heavier than a ten ton .

Always an informative product review. I’m looking for another little buddy type trailer to move the TL12, Kubota tractor, Jeeps and trucks, hot rods some running some not side by sides etc. I’ll be adding a winch for the non running a inevitable breakdowns and roll overs. I don’t have a CDL, so I know I have limitations. I’d like to haul two rock crawlers and at times two vehicles. I had a tilt deck years ago and really liked it. My 14k dump has the skid steer package with pull out ramps and I’m not as young as as once was, nor as good 😂. What would you build for these needs, who knows your trailer buddy might appreciate another sale. Thanks for sharing Sam👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Scissor lift and telescoping cylinder is all about geometry. You don’t dump a wheelbarrow from the center of a load, they attach handles to give you leverage. W/the telescoping cylinder works with a smaller cylinder compared to the huge cylinder needed for the scissor lift.

Cheap vs exp .. I would rather have a 20 year old one made out of real good older metal that thicker. Most stuff is so thin today it Crack the frame between the axles or where the hydraulic are old trailer. I just paid a guy to cut and add new thicker metal to my old ass trailer vs buying a new cheap one that has no support in the weak points. There great for home owner who use once a month vs us using 5-10 load a day 5 days a week.. if I bought a new I would 100% replace the whole frame from front to back before it starts to crack.. just my experience from being in the dumpster business for 40 years when dad starter.. and gas vs battery is like gold vs junk a$$$$ dead battery no one wires correctly lol.. nice looking trailers.. hope they last or you reinforce then..

Good comment. These trailers get used daily at max weight. No issues. Sometime you have to stop think and engineer to make something better. Old thick iron doesn’t mean it’s better at all. Different grade of steel better design so much better. The diamond c is still doing great. Sold the old one.

@V-BELT and SON when and if I buy another trailer I will add another 2x4 rectangular tubing down all the rails or add angle iron down all the beams before years of use start to Crack them weak points.. and reinforce the corners. We haul 15-2000 dumpster a year and have seen and fix ever inch on all my trailers lol.. I look at it this way if I'm spending 30k on trailer what another 2-3k in money so the trailer last more then 4-8 years.. its just a cheap insurance policy now vs a rail cracked that your spending days cutting out and redoing.. lifting a whole dumpster with just the ass end of the trailer strains everything from front to back. Good luck and get that money..

Biggest POS on those diamond c trailers is the toolbox lid, I've gone through 2 already. Tightened them up and adjusted but the bouncing on the roads makes them snap off

I haven't bought any expensive trailers yet but for the money PJ trailer is far better than the crappy ones you get at Northern tool. They are cheaper and have many more features plus are built stronger. So if you're new trailer has two 10,000 lb axles that's a gross vehicle weight of 20,000 I believe. So if the trailer weighs 8 you can only put 12,000 in it. Pretty sure that's how it works. Like my pj has a 3500 lb axle in it but it weighs 1700 empty it's technically a 3000 pound rated trailer but I know what axle it has of course under 10,000 you don't have to worry about Dot. Also I'm a truck driver and our 80,000 pounds includes the weight of the truck and trailer we can't do 80,000 pounds of payload.

On a gooseneck trailer a lot of the weight is carried by the rear axle of the truck so with 20k axles on this trailer you could carry a lot more then 12k (20k minus 8k trailer weight) I’m guessing 16,000 pounds safely! With a heavy duty truck and a high capacity dump trailer like this you’re total weight capacity is over 36K and puts you into a CDL license.

That’s such a nice trailer. I’m considering something similar, just 16’ long. Only thing I’m stuck on is the side height. Looks like you got 32”? Do you prefer it to a 24” side? If doing it again would you still go with 32” or 24” with timber panel or just straight 24”? How’s the oil bath hubs, no leaks? Are you happy with the torsion axles? They are so quiet.

On this trailer I’d stay with the taller sides. I have a new smaller trailer with the short sides. And trailer has been perfect no issues. Hubs are solid. I have two trailer with the same axle. Work great no complaints

On your 3rd gen did you have to upgrade the hitch receiver to tow heavy with the bumper pull? Curious because my 11 2500 has a 2” receiver and apparently the hitch receiver only rated for 10k. Woundering if I need to upgrade it

Let me ask you to do me a favor - can you do a video on the tailgate and using the spreader gate? Look at the chain placement and see if you are able to tailgate gravel with your trailer (mine broke both chains the very FIRST time I tried to tailgate some gravel.... maybe I'm just not doing it right?)

Trailer weight itself is on the tongue of the trailer. Transferred to the truck but I can’t fit a 20k machine in this trailer to narrow. And the 2 10 trailers are prorated to 25k

There sticker shows that its weight is 4500lb but I haven't had it on a scale yet but It definitely feels lighter than my 25' big tex gooseneck
