Great episode... too much goodness to mention... I first can across ribbon in the sky in the 90s as it was very popular with r&b bands, lots of them did stevie covers to various degrees of success.... a great tune for sure

Very nice video, glad to hear about your guest. Working with Patrice Rushen...amazing. That lp is excellent as well. R.I.P chick Corea, I saw him just once in concert only (unfortunately), it was a solo piano effort, and it was superb! The best concert from 2019 for me was wilco...they were great from start to finish. Plantation lullabies is absolut killer Mark! Cheers guys!

If we ever get back to live concerts - I think both Wilco and Meshell would be top of my wish list. Hope you're well. Cheers John

Another great session. It was so great seeing Bobbie again! The VC love Train composition was such a wonderful artistic event. I loved being part of it. I often listen to Thom Bell's sessions with Deniece Williams and Johnny Mathis on you tube (I have the albums also). His orchestral arrangements are at their best. Congratulations Bobbie on the VC collaboration and all of your musical endeavors. Alfonso

Hello Mark and John. It was wonderful getting to know Bobbie-Jane in this new installment. I am looking forward to getting to know her better. I was trying to explain to her via comment how nice it was to see a song written for the Love Train/VCLT name and acronym that I created early on. I was trying to write it correctly in the comment without sounding like I was boasting. {smile} For years I kind of kept it to myself although there were a handful of VC members who remembered. Since it has become such a huge part of this community it does make me feel proud in a way. Wonderfully done once again~ Rob/Boston

Thank you Rob - and full credit to you for inventing VCLT and keeping the ship sailing in a positive and loving trajectory!

@@drrhythmn Thank you Mark. I guess it is one small thing that I can take credit for in this massive and amazing community that we share. On the flipside. It is friends like you and John that keep the VC vibe {both classic and new} going strong. I have loved/enjoyed/appreciated watching you both since we all started. Without sounding corny. It is longtime members like you and John that continually recharge my spirit. Have a dynamite week Mark~

Bobbie! John! Mark! Great stuff here! Had to go back and listen to 'Dorothy' again. Still think its one of the best songs i've heard in the last 10 years! Leaves me in bits every time! Bravo!

I share you enthusiasm for 'HardRain' a magnificent racket from start to finish. Apart from Scarlett popping up from time to time to give a bit of order to proceedings the rest is non- stop confusion, I particularly enjoy the bits where the band tune up and then continue more out of tune than before. Its one of the few live rock lps that I go back to.

A magnificent racket is a perfect description of Hard Rain. The second half of the Rolling Thunder sounded like it was mayhem. There was a very funny interview with Mick Ronson where he said that Bob basically never talked to him over the whole tour. All best wishes John

Bobbie, that’s an incredible story about you being mentored by Patrice! It’s wonderful to hear about artists passing on their knowledge. I’ve been listening to her Watch Out album a lot recently. The track, Breaking All The Rules, has a real Prince feel to it. Brilliant. Chaps, I did a needle drop of a version of Ribbon In The Sky by Glen Ricks in my last Stevie covers video. I’m sure you’ll disagree but I reckon it’s better than the original! I’m sure the full tune’s on KZbin. Cheers! John

Thanks for the heads up on the Glen Ricks - lovely lovers style version - but I am sticking with the Stevie version 'cos of the piano playing!

Bobbie has stunning teeth. Should write a Clarinet piece about immaculate knashers. Chick Corea is music to kill yourself to, if you ask me, robotic. But I know a few Keyboardists, is that a word, who admired his doodling. His interest in Scientology has a logic as his sounds seemed removed from the human condition, or pandemic. Curtis, need to see that, he is a genius!
