Ugh... I missed this one. My favorite Denise Williams, hands down. Mark, that Brick record is such a good Funk record. Grew up listening to that one. That Gabriels record is FANTASTIC. Saw them live here in So.California not too long ago; maybe about 18 to 20 months ago. There was such a fantastic Reggae scene in the UK early on wasn't there? That's one thing the West Coast of the U.S. lacks is a good Reggae scene. I'd be interested in that Gendel-Wilkes record. Always good to see you two jibber jabber intelligently about records. Cheers to you both! TONE

Great stuff as always. Merger has been on my radar for a while now. It has a very nice jazziness and very uk sound. Walter heath is a lovely one to, I've been waiting patiently in the hope one might turn up over here. All the best.

Hi Laurence - the Walter Heath turned up on ebay when I refreshed the page searching for an affordable copy - complete fluke .....

Missed you boys. Nice selection for me to explore. I love that Garcia record obviously. Mare of Easttown is set in Delaware County where I live. My niece was an extra in one of the episodes. Great little series

Hi Stavros - it's good to be back - I think we might finally get to meet up for real next time - I must watch Mare of Eastown!

Hey Stavros. Way back in the 80s I think we once crossed into the north end of the County on the way to or from Philadelphia. Need to have a proper look! Hope you're very well

Hi Chaps. I thoroughly enjoyed Mare Of Easttown. Great story and an acting masterclass. Best thing I’ve seen on the idiot lantern for a while. I heard Sam Gendel & Sam Wilkes being interviewed on the Gilles Peterson show a month or so ago and thought that the Music For Saxofone & Bass Guitar album sounded really interesting. I think you’ve played some tracks on your show too, Mark? Will pick up the album at some point. Cheers. John

I love the sound that those guys are currently exploring - groove and glitch in equal measures - with great playing too - yes - I have been playing a fair bit of music that they are involved in (as has John!)

Wonderful to see the best longtime duo in the VC. Hi Mark Hi John. That National Information Society has been written down. Have seen the Max Roach / Anthony Braxton before. Anything with Braxton that I have heard so far I liked. I just spun Five Compositions on Black Saint and it was great. I never had an original Track Records pressing of Who's Next. I showed the three record set in my last video. Two of the albums are on Track and the other is on Decca. A nicely packaged edition. www.discogs.com/The-Who-Whos-Next/release/1592365 Another superb video guys. I am very thankful that you both continue to do these videos. You always remind me on how great the VC was in the early years. I am continually inspired by the artists/albums that you show. Enjoy the rest of the weekend~ Rob/Boston

Mark check out more of Joshua Abrams’ stuff on the Eremite Records label. All of it is good. Always great to see the Hat Hut doubles. Solid session again gentlemen.

Hope you can both do a show (radio too) non - remotely next month. Interested to hear that Sam Gendel. Pretty sure he’s the player in Clown Core! (Probably with Louis Cole)
@drrhythmn3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for introducing me to Clown Core Ed! Sounds like they might be another guise for KNOWER? Certainly that sounds like Louis Cole on the drums for them - I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Sam Gendel connection there too!
@omniversal73 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ed. Clown Core sound a bit like the return of Mr Bungle. No bad thing!

@@omniversal7 yes! Not a big fan of clowns but Louis Cole (?) is an outstanding drummer.. original style too.

@@Ed-Topo-108 Yep - I evidently had an unhappy encounter with a clown when I was about 5. Probably explains a lot!

@@omniversal7 😂 when I used to get the tube at Green Park daily there was a sad clown busker playing guitar & harmonica. Used to scare the hell out of me!
