What do you not understand? Every single controller needs to have some sort of play and give to the thumbstick, and you can move it from side to side and it will stay there. Some controllers are extremely sensitive. Keep any controller on 0 deadzone and it will drift.

It was NOT a firmware issue, the firmware patch was a last second half assed attempt to make it usable at the lowest setting. The case it comes in has a stiff mesh pouch that pushed in the buttons, even with the stick protectors that came on them.

Over the last decade I had 4 Elite (2 v1 and 2 v2) die, and had both the previous Wolverine Ultimate predecessors (the ones with 4 back paddles and two extra shoulder buttons), as well as the Scuf Envision Pro. This V3 is the first controller I've thought was nearly perfect. Time will tell if it's reliable, but the new back button shape/layout is the first that have felt "just right" to my hands. Great review!

Would you say this controller is better than the cyclone 2 and tarantula pro from game sir? Ive never tried extra shoulder buttons or 4 back buttons but I do know I have uses for them.

Thank you for the tip! It’s much appreciated To be %100 honest with you, the Tarantula pro is incredibly unreliable & the cyclone 2 is kinda of a toss up. I don’t have the cyclone in hand yet, but if it has the same issues as the G7 controllers paired with the new issues we see with the T Pro, it’d be one hell of a forest fire lol. I’d say the Vader 4 is a much superior alternative to the tarantula

I've been enjoying the G7 SE for about six months now, but I've been wanting to experiment with a controller featuring four rear buttons. So far, the GameSir rear buttons are my favorite. @@vCuda I'm curious to know what the issues you are talking about for the G7 controllers? I have owned the G7 SE for nearly a year now and I haven't had a single issue. If anything the controller has gotten upgrades over time including software updates that allowed the controller to go up to 1000hz polling rate. My gf also has the G7 HE and she loves it. And even tho the Cyclone 2 just came out recently the few reviews out there are all extremely positive

14:22 to check how circular stick deadzone is, it's good to have asymetry index tester. I don't see internal restriction ring in this gamepad, so i guess that standard clip design should work fine. Standard and Circularity option is only enabling or disabling circularity cap, but in most scenarios, calibration is still the same

I've been using the v3 pro for a little bit now and really enjoy it, and it's by far my favorite controller. The m1+m2 are great for pinging and using streaks. Everything feels good. Had to get used to extra effort at first, but enjoy it now. For reference I've used the elite 1+2 (here for a good time, not a long time), victrix gambit (my last controller that I also enjoyed), fusion pro 1-3 (the 2 is alright 3s back button suck). I've looked into scuff but decided on the razer for the 6 buttons placement and hall effects sticks.

@@boristeplitskiy7632 The Victrix Gambit is an amazing controller, the back buttons are in a pretty good place. I was able to use all 4 back buttons with little to no issues. The triggers are nice and i like that they are 100% activated even when they are at their shortest pull. I would still be using it if this controller didn't catch my eye!

However, I just got the Razer V3 tournament edition a couple of days ago and have played a few games of halo, and I think it feels very similar to the gambit, but I have to play more games and mess around with the deadzone settings to see which one I like more. Just my 2 cents

What truly pisses me off about this controller is the fact they didn't decide to use the seated USB port that they used on the original Wolverine Ultimate. It was perfect and did not bend the end of the Micro USB cable. The V2 one broke the end of my USB C cable and I'm not surprised to see there are people having connection issues with wired because of the stupid design being brought back from V2. You say it was disgusting but it was actually reliable.

I got the Gamesir G7 SE for 3 months+ but really not sure if I should buy the Wolverine V3 TE, I like the idea of the extra buttons and clicky buttons but that response/latency time seems worrying. edit: could always wait for the Gamesir G7 Pro, whenever that shows up

It's wild coming from the mouse community where mouse design is basically solved, the budget mice are all really good, and the high end mice are that 10% extra quality. You guys are in the godddam trenches, half of the controllers have awful response times, or some other random thing thats wrong, and even the high end stuff like this has massive issues. I've been heavily using the TE model since it released, and it's awesome. I am one of the try-hard sweats that uses all 6 extra buttons. I never take my thumbs off the sticks, so I never found out how whack the face buttons are. Like, you said, only time will tell longevity-wise.

Sounds to me like the Razer Wolverine is developed with minimal influence from their other peripherals. Like why not have a fully customizable and remappable controller on PC like the Scuf Envision, especially when your mice and keyboard can do the same, and with their controversial Synapse app. I know this isn't a PC only controller, but if you're advertising a Pro Controller with 1000Hz for PC, why make it complicated for PC with downloading another application and not supporting full remap to custom binds?

I was between the TE and the Vader 4 Pro for a new controller, went for the V4P in the end, I kinda miss the old shape of my V2 Chroma, I even got used to the weird back buttons layout, didn't have big issues with it either. But the sticks on the V4P are godly and after the firmware updates, it's probably the best bang for your buck controller of the year

Finally! it came, THE BIG ONE, You don’t get enough credit for what you’re doing-seriously underrated! I’ve been waiting for your review, to be honest. I’ve been searching for a pro controller for like a week straight, and every other controller had dealbreakers. At first, I was avoiding Razer, but I checked out every controller website-custom ones, PS5, Xbox, you name it. Your take on controllers was super informative and fun! Honestly, it was so good that I even started following you on IG. I’ve seen Gamer Heaven’s reviews too, but you and him are definitely my favorites. Anyway, when I finally started focusing on pro controllers instead of custom ones (totally different ballgame, no duh), I looked into Turtle Beach, Thrustmaster, elite2, flydigi vader 4 pro but the backbuttons were not good, none were good enough. Then I gave Razer a proper look, and it just clicked for me. The price is great, and the back buttons were my main priority-and Razer nailed it. They’re awesome. The buttons sound great, and I can’t wait to finally get my hands on it (that’s what she said). I just ordered it and am hyped to see how it performs and feels!

I can tell you because as someone who only plays a very select few games with controller via streaming from their pc to a 4K 65+ inch TV in the living room and then mkb on the desktop for everything competitive that actually matters, we expect the same quality and performance from our wireless controllers as our wireless mice. I would spend $300 on a wireless controller if it wasn’t riddled with flaws like all the current pro controllers. The controller market is dogshit compared to mice. I won’t even get into how console gamers are basically troglodytes stuck in a time capsule.

I know you've gotta be reviewing the kalied xbox edition, it is THE most beautiful controller I've ever had and it has gave me 0 problems within the past 3 months (Razer please bring back the encapsulated plug hole like the original wolverine and the kalied has. 0 connector issues with them I've owned the kalied xbox for 3 months and the wolverine tournament edition for 2 years).

I have an OG Wolverine Ultimate and am looking to update it soon. One thing that bugs me with my controller (and a lot of Xbox controllers in general) is how noisy the sticks are when they hit the frame of the controller. Your videos don’t seem to cover this, but are the newer Razer controllers quieter in this aspect?

Just got this controller about two weeks ago, and I like it. Last night my RB button started sticking and staying stuck for about 5 seconds or so before releasing. Unfortunate because I bought this one because both of my elite 2 controllers had RB issues.

Fuckin _Goated_ review. I've had 3 Wolverine controllers (2 V1-TE's; 1 V2-Chroma), and despite the reliability issues that others have had, I have had barely any after about 2 years of *daily* use on each. 1st V1-TE got the living _shit_ beat out of it, and after 2 years and about ~2500-3000hrs of gameplay, the sticks had drift only due to the springs loosening up, and issues with the D-pad double clicking/phantom pressing. 2nd controller had about the same runtime, still suffering from loose springs, but this time having phantom presses or double clicks with the m1 & m2 buttons. Still very useable despite that. Now I've been on my V2 Chroma since August of '23. So far it's held up well, other than this weird glitch where when I'm in certain games like Rainbow 6, the controller randomly disconnects. It's rare so it's not too much of an annoyance, but it does happen. The size and chunkiness sucks, and I believe exaggerates how "bad" the paddle layout is, especially with kontrol freeks. Even with my XL hands, I still get cramps trying to rapid fire the triggers due to how stretched out they have to be. It also really doesn't help that the triggers are way too curved, and the springs are too stiff even after break-in. So far so good, however. I take good care of my controllers though. I have a little brush that I use to clean out dirt & dust often and give them a wipe down with alcohol to clean off any residue. Even though I have had problems, seeing them after 2 years and ~2800hrs of gameplay gives them a pass in my book as one of the most reliable out there.
