I have to applaud Jamie for his acting skills. He manages to pull off a wholesome but slightly creepy orderly, the cruel and twisted 001 and Vecna so well. Each version is so different from the other and he pulls it off so amazingly

The gate did close after one, and then El opened the portal at the start of season 1. When El opened the gate in 83, that's when things were frozen in time.

I think, or it's my theory, that the frozen in time Hawkins was Will's creation when he was trapped there. Will, like Henry, was always "A sensitive child" according to Joyce.

All the kids in the facility were born with abilities and stolen from their families so they could be studied and experimented with. Remember they told Eleven’s mom that she died but she knew it wasn’t true & tried to get her back They told Victor Creel the same thing & he had no way of checking because he was already in custody

@@manuelvfc6254 That's my assumption. In a previous season, when Hopper is researching Brenner, he sees a photo of Brenner with his MKULTRA subjects. They all appear to be young women. At the time, I just thought it was meant to make us think that Brenner was inappropriately intimate with his college students -- maybe even that he was El's biological father. Now I think it's a hint that part of his experimentation involved artificially impregnating all those women, and that all of the kids were actually 001's biological offspring. Number Two seems like a young teen -- just about the right age to be the eldest of ~31-year-old 001's kids.

Yes, this WAS in fact planned from the beginning. In an interview the Duffer's were asked about it and said that Netflix wanted to know the lore on how the upside-down worked even before season one went into production, so they sat down and outlined all of it. That's why this season feels so contained and well paced, they're going through the lore steps they had planned from the very start.

This reveal was so fantastically done. This is my favorite scene in the show. This and a scene in volume 2 share first place. The other one is pure hype and this one just gives me chills every time. Jamie is an excellent actor and did this so well

When El sent One to the Upside down the portal was closed quickly, but when El opens the portal again, in 83, that's when things got copied, to me it means that the Upside down get the copy of our world once One was able to sense the portal opened in 83, and since he didn't know the actual world with the series moving on it got frozen in 83, and tbh he don't need it to be up to date

The Upside Down and Right Side up are "fraternal twin sisters" so to speak, "siamese twins" connected invertibly. They share each other's gravity so the sheet-rope was being pulled from either side.

1959 brenner gets his hands on lil henry creel and proceeds to do whatever with him for 20 years.. 1979 eleven shoves vecna into the upside down and the portal closes... 1983 season one an older looking eleven is 4 years older and pokes the demagorgon when shes in the black void.. she freaks out when it turns around and that energy shock from her fear while she was in the void created the portal that stayed open which is the same day Will dissapears... time freezes at 1983 in the upside down... now does vecna keep that portal open causing the world copy to happen? would the portal have closed back up like it did the first time if it wasnt for vecna being on the otherside keeping it open on purpose just waiting for his next opportunity for revenge? so many questions but the timeline is somewhat clear

I agree that the forces on the rope should have to be balanced, like in the game Portal when you have two portals on the floor. But I guess there's some kind of nullification of forces where the two gravity fields connect.

One doesn’t hate Eleven. He genuinely cares for her. Only him and Eleven are naturally born with superpowers. The rest are duplicates, that’s why he saw Eleven as an equal and why he wants to get her out of the lab, because he feels genuine empathy for her. Eleven just happened to have a moral conscience, and that gave him the motivation to manipulate her last minute.

@@robinnandtheprophett the gravities are the same though, just in opposite directions. That's why the rope was able to float between them on its own. Once someone on one side pulls on it though, it should get pulled through unless there's equal weight on the other side.

It makes me think that the Upside-down is not really a physical place. It only has gravity and physical laws because of humans going there.

The first part of that long ending song is called "Prophecies" and its from a 1982 artistic documentary called "Koyaanisqatsi" meaning "life out of balance". The documentary has no commentary and is meant to analyze and contrast the structure and flow of nature; with the unnatural society humans have built. Kind of similar to what Vecna/One/Henry is talking about in his monologue, I knew of the song but just realized the significance of it playing over his hatred for humanity so sick.

Also worth mentioning that "Prophecies" in the original documentary is played over a slow-mo video of a rocket exploding after launch, implying the inevitable end of humanity and return to the natural order of things.

explain the gravity around the gate? impossible.. its not anything real.. it contain also logic-hole.. since dustin just through it casualy and it passed through and then change of gravity happend.. if indeed the gate itself held stronger gravity it could put center heavier point to the blanket which explain why she not fallin anywhere.. but it still make no sense with dustin casual throw the blanket in between world.. or there some power field / gravity differences.. or there not.. and again stranger things is 2$ show if you realy looking into look-holes and broken logic.
