In my opinion, the proof of concept was Cosmo. Anki quickly discovered that developers also really wanted additional sensors, primarily a mic, better camera, and touch sensors. Another feature developers and general users of Cosmo really wanted was more autonomy and not having to tether the robot to a mobile phone/tablet. So Vector is really an evolution of Cosmo and, in my opinion, is going to be awesome. I've had Cosmo for about 1 1/2 yrs and my daughter and I love playing with him - not to mention the recent code lab updates make Cosmo an incredible educational tool. Vector's SDK looks like it is going to be awesome. Imagine writing up some code to have Vector patrol your house, stream the camera feed to a secured endpoint (security software recorder somewhere, local or cloud), and if it detects a face or what not, it can send you a text message or something. You probably can even code up something fun like if he hears the door bell he'll bark. :) With a little bit of work, you should be able to integrate Vector with HomeKit and other home automation APIs/frameworks too. Things like "Hey Vector, lower the temperature 1 deg". Given all the sensors Vector has, this should be possible. He's going to be amazing to tinker with!

This lil dude takes like 10 min at most to fully charge, and whenever you leave/don’t mess with him he finds his charger so he can stay at full battery. Just got one and battery doesn’t seem to be an issue, he stays on for awhile.

Remember this: in order to be able to do that, the transmission has to be sent over the internet to your mobile network provider, which then pass it on to you if you have a signal... but this transmission could easily be intercepted, decrypted and then read and possibly used, like working out your location. Basically, it'd attract more bad people to your house who then set off the transmission, which can again be intercepted and used, which starts off the whole cycle. In other words, it's a security freak's worst nightmare. Some security doesn't provide reliable security!

I really hope the developers read this . 1 ) give it security functions while I am away like patrol when a noise,motion or temperature change...it has the sensors,the house map and home owners face recognition so to inform at my phone if something is happening while I am away with live video feed with 2 way sound . 2) A port to mount accessories at top or down for future upgrades like quadcopter features to patrol further and faster , or to mount a toy gun to play with kids ...it will open a new world of possibilities for the future without the need to buy a new model....just software upgrades .do all that and double at least your sales .then I'll buy one

What would you want Vector to do?I'd definitely consider getting one if you introduced some basic security protocols, IE having it function as a mobile indoor security camera, with audio and video feeds uploaded to the cloud. Seems a lot more fun than just going with a regular old wifi camera.
