I feel like I came back to this video every month. Every time I am having a problem in geometry nodes I watch this video and find a solution. Thank you so much!

This is reassuring because I'm sitting here wondering how will I ever learn what math to use in these situations since I'm not coming from a programming background. I'm often hurt by confusion lmao

I've been looking for this specific type of reference for some time. Most tutorials only show how the math or node works, not practical examples. Saved for later reference! Great job.

this is great for anyone who wants to mess around in geometry nodes and helps to visualize what the math nodes are doing. Especially when you follow tutorials so you know what is really happening behind the scenes

Wow really great explanation. I think of myself as someone who generally 'gets math' and I still learned a ton from this video. Great explanations and I love the fun examples with Mario/Boo etc.

This was such a valuable lesson! I'll never forget "aCross Product", being perpendicular/across to the plane created by the other two vectors. Amazing video! As a challenge I recreated the custom Mesh Arrow node group and am playing with the concepts now. Thanks for your hard work to teach this!

This is so well explained. I can finally understand what I am looking at in Shader Nodes and Geometry Nodes. I was researching on how to do a parallax effect in shader nodes and they were using all these vector math with incoming ray but I couldn't wrap my head around it. Now I can... try, at least...

Wow, you are amazing explaining vectors. Thank you so much.
I think this is a great way to explain vector math in a visual way without mathematical notation, which can be intimidating to many people (especially artists). However, you use the term "direct multiplication", which is kinda confusing. In math, this is called the "component-wise multiplication", or "element-wise multiplication". There is indeed something called the "direct product", but that's something different (and more complicated). I hope in the future you consider using the proper terminology, so that people know what keywords to use if they want more information. I could imagine someone googling your words and then getting really overwhelmed, even though the actual math here is not too difficult.

There is only one solution for the cross product not two. The order that you cross the vectors, matters. If you want to determine its resultant direction without using trial and error i.e. not having to flip inputs, you can use the right-hand rule

Very interesting, I was looking for something like this. Thanks. I however can’t find the “ mesh arrow “ node. I am using blender 3.4.1
@btn237 Жыл бұрын
That’s not an included node in Blender. If you see nodes that have a dark green header, it’s a custom node group that has been created by the user. You can easily make this node group yourself, or subscribe to their full course where I’m sure the blend files are available.
