Waouhhh, what a level of intelligence on both sides ! And imagine this : they share the same conclusion from individual spiritual and philosophical endeavors and perspectives so separate in time and space : western analytical philosophy of today vs Indian religion of thousands years ago. I am amazed about this fact.

Swami Ji and Dr. Kastrup, please accept my greatest appreciation, not for the intellect alone, but for your mutual love and admiration, and understanding of the deepest truth of the conceptual trap, which can sometimes even seem to separate the wisdom traditions whom, as you say, Swami Ji, often directly say the same thing, when in appropriate context. Why would we come to any other conclusion? Haha. It is a Dzogchen term, but I'm sure recognizable: the Great Perfection. This is the prajnaparamita, as I think you are well aware, Swami Ji. Neem Karoli Baba Ji often spoke of the perfection of existence, as of course did Sri Ramakrishna Parahamsa Ji, and I believe Swami Vivekananda stated it explicitly, but I am not sure. It is just so beautiful, at every brief glimpse. Namaste, blessings, peace peace peace. Thank you so much

Thank you for mentioning this video; I may not have come across it otherwise. I enjoyed it; I thought it was rather elucidating, even if awkward at times. Even the frustration level was elucidating imo, and I don't mind frustration where learning is concerned because I think it often times precedes or accompanies learning. It looked that Kastrup was the frustrated one.

❤ The Sattvic state of the mind enables us to experience the freedom, fullness, and peace of our divine essence. There is no other way, and there is no doubt about this. The only condition to experience happiness at the psychological level and the bliss of our divine essence is the purity of mind and heart. Any other idea has nothing to do with reality.

❤ The highest Samadhi is the absence of any sense of "I" and "mine." No other condition is needed to experience freedom and peace. In the absence of the "I," life simply is. This experience can be temporary when the "I" subsides and continuous when the "I" has been dissolved through ongoing practice.

42:00: ❤ Yes the mind in the dream becomes all those dream objects as it becomes all waking objects. It is the mind that becomes all the experienced forms either with aid of the senses or the aid of the impressions that are stored in the subconscious mind. As for the forms we see in dreams but never seen in the external world, the mind is creative and with the power of imagination can create infinite variations. 😮

My regards to both Bernardo and Swamiji. Loved the discourse from both sides. But I am confused. Whether this is the right platform to put my question. I want to make a distinction between consciousness, physical self, and awareness because one is aware only when consciousness is together with the physical self. For example, pain is felt by a conscious self. If consciousness and physical self are kept apart, there will be no awareness. But if put together, one is aware of pain. So who is feeling the pain? consciousness, physical self, or the awareness generated from the fusion of consciousness and the self.

❤The pure mind remains still by itself. No effort, devotion, or other practice is needed once the mind is purified. All other practices serve to purify and concentrate the mind, addressing its impurity, extroversion,. distraction and agitation. ❤When the mind becomes entirely pure, free from egoic tendencies and desire, it naturally remains still. ❤ Desire is what causes oscillation and motion in the mind. Hence, freedom from desire, or desirelessness, is the path to liberation and self-realization.😮

59:00 ❤ The metal bottle exists by itself and not because we perceive it, (that is because we are conscious or aware of it.) We cannot deny the existence of the "material" objects no being conscious of them since they also are consciousness as us. They do not need a conscious observer to exist for the simple reason they also are consciousness appearing as objects.

38:00: ❤ We cannot experience things without consciousness, but all things exist in themselves even though they are not experienced, even though there is no one who is conscious of them, for the simple reason that everything is formless consciousness appearing as form, as all these forms that we perceive in this universe. You have to understand that the room you mention in your example, exists by itself even if there is no one conscious of it, because the room is consciousness like us. The only difference is that we, as this psychobiological structure have the ability to be aware of ourselves and other forms, while the room cannot be aware of itself and aware of other forms, because it lacks the necessary equipment. 😮

Very interesting. There is separateness, or specificity of different phenomena, and there is onnesess. In my view separateness, specificity becomes the building block for mind to come into being, and later on minds evolution to the birth of human consciousness. Of course for the whole of Nature, nothing is outside of it, even separateness is a part of the whole. In human consciousness, nature starts becoming conscious for the first time, and now the journey of the whole upgrades itself qualitatively.

My question is: Is that still mind with which i experienced satchitananda eternal? Let's say there wil be self realization and the ego is dissolved and in the end the body will die as well, what remains? I know consciousness remains but will there be an eternal point of view of void or whatever? Or another body will arise and yet another ego and so on?

❤ As long as ego and tendencies are alive in us even though we have realized (awakened) that we are unlimited Being-Consciousness suffering is inevitable, no doubt😮. 39:00 ❤ It is unreasonable and not in reasonance with our experience to say that since we talk now about the appearance of the universe some time ago, it is not so, because all this happens now in our minds. You are identified with this way of thinking as other advaitins as well and because of this you cannot examine it objectively. You have to understand that everyone in the universe and the universe itself is consciousness and that's why can exist even though no one is aware of it. If you miss this point, you are going to be caught in this limited perception, believing that everything happens in OUR consciousness and that's why doesn't exist in OUR consciousness. But you miss that everything is consciousness and doesn't need is to exist and undergo the evolutionary process according to kra nature. So, yes the universe could exist even though no human being or other beings from any other planets of the universe are aware of it.😮
@eshanthasamarasekera5007 Жыл бұрын
"Consciousness" according to Lord Buddhas' teachings in Theravada Buddhism, (dependent origination, "patichchasamuppada" ) explains how Consciousness forms as a phenomenal process, to begin as the core of "life" energy. For example as a worldly phenomenon, " seed " generate growth to a plant with help of "nature".

1:02:00 ❤ BLISS Bliss is limitless, unconditional, timeless, immutable, formless, objectless, unfathomable, indescribable. If we wanted to use some words to describe bliss (which can't really describe bliss) they could be. PEACE, SILENCE, FULLNESS, FREEDOM, BEAUTY, BEAUTY Swami Sivananda Similarly the knowers of the Self (Atman) are fully aware that the infinite bliss of Atman shines unobscured and unlimited during all the three periods of time and all the three states of experience. The bliss of Brahman cannot be adequately expressed in words. It has to be felt and realised through direct Self-realisation. Though we experience it, it is not an experience like the enjoyment of an object, because you are then an embodiment of bliss itself.

Eastern mysticism are two types, one in which cosmic consciousness and knowledge of divine design are shared by all humans and the other in which human consciousness and knowledge are secondary to it (like the Gilgamesh syndrome) and you never have an inkling of it. Babylonian mindset permits human and cosmic are the same, while Indian mindset permits the Gilgamesh syndrome.
