India can only invest in soft power when it has per capita gdp of around 8000 USD because that's when most of the people will have disposable income.After gdp of around 12 trillion you will see investments in tourism and culture like south korea. but the weird part is our media industry makes the most low IQ stuff. I remember having a conversation with my american friend. He said I recently watched the movie animal with my family and I was shocked how illogical and irresponsible it was. SPOT ON MAN!, I had visited the US(massachusetts) when my father worked there, for a few months only. In that short time i had a chance to just say hi to my neighbours and some local boys my age, they were surprised because my house had 2 tvs, and i lived in a normal apartment soceity, one of them even said " it all looks so clean, you must be super rich", when i told them i was just an average middle income family child, they were surpised point being, the image of india as one big slum is so ingrained in people outside, that they outright refuse to believe the conditions in india are just like other countries, even better, and its all(atleast partly) medias fault.

Shamefully, there was a British lady in front of him who shook her head in order to tell him not to do it. He did it anyway. Then she kept murmuring something to her family. And their family members stared at the Indian family with disappointment. This incidence is enough tell that THIS IS HOW our dirty image is created in the eyes of westerners. Why are we bothered about how Indians are portrayed outside India, I know we are developing, we have many things we can boast about, but at the end of the day we still have the majority of poor people who struggle to eat everyday, we have class divide where the rich want no association with the poor, the rich kids in India want to follow western culture, the poor do not have any chance, they have to go through this system called "government" which only favours the rich. Our portrayal might not be just the slums but a very hard pill to swallow is that most of the Indians do live the way it is shown. We should be concerned about our own state of living before thinking about what others think.

Thank god you made this video. Because I have seen this Indian mindset for a long time “oh kya farak padta hai” Also we have this poverty which visible like baggers who n the streets, open sewage, open wires, dirty roads, slums, people not using bathrooms, people eat tabaco and paint everything, people drink cow urine, present animal shit as something sacred, and animals on roads. We can hit back saying you west also have this type of things but that is just minor part in the developed country. So we have to demand proper representation and also have to fix our short comings. For example when ever I see President house ceremony where they receive international guests and have them red carpet welcome. It is on dirt ground whenever I Comment that we should change this into paved ground or put tiles people say why, we are in India. India can do whatever we want, why we need to appease westerns. People don’t understand it is not about appeasing anyone it is about how you represent yourself. Dirt ground due to hot weather in Delhi and poor air doesn’t look good it looks like you arrived in a very poor country but put this same dirt ground in cool climate like Kashmir or Ladakh this will so good. We don’t pay attention on how we look. See Indian soldiers footage and other soldiers in our always looks weak from their body, weapons, and equipment they use. Point is we have not taken quality footage of our forces and sometime our soldiers use loose helmet which cover their eyes and looks absurd. We have different type of people and they use mix helmet and patka for head protection and looks completely absurd. Then people say oh it does not matter army is for fighting not visuals, same with equipment they say of it is ok we are using this in war not movie so doesn’t matter how it looks. But this is the complete opposite in west they make their weapons visually good and more effective. So even our military need proper gear with standard uniform not patten which is different according to the environment. China is paper tiger but have created good image of its army and in movies it looks good same with USA. We need change in all over India in everything. Even movies. I hate it when they put songs in movies and suddenly situation changes and dancers appear no realism.

I attended my engineering college at the United Kingdom. I had rarely faced racism there. It's all about thinking. Our British teachers, professors, and British classmate liked us, because we are hard working, consistent and eager to learn. Racism in the United Kingdom is dealt with punity and strictly if complaint are made genuinely. They don't like the Indians, Pakistani and Bangladeshis are migrating in large numbers over there and creating a job problem. Only teenage or underage children say fowl racist words, those are rare. We Indians think a lot about these things. I think our own Indian workplaces are more toxic and racist, people play a lot of regional politics. We as Indians must think about ourselves first and treat ourselves regardless of caste, colour, region state or gender. Then focus on other nations.
