Luxury brands are coming to India because the market in China is drying up. The Chinese have wised up and stopped spending money on these so-called luxury brands. So India is the next target. Recently, Chanel beauty products are available for online purchase, which is a great example of their plans for expansion in the country. I'm sure we are going to see more boutiques open up in the metros in the years to come. There is a lot of money to be made from the class-conscious, affluent upper middle class in India, and you best believe it will be exploited. Everyone wants our money, we need to be wise and spend it on things that matter.

I personally don't. I feel like I have things which either I can afford or I need. It's not worth of saving for a year then just buy a bag or something like that. A bag will never change anything in my life even if I don't have it, people in my office tried multiple times to get an iphone but do I really need it? No so why do I need to save 4-5 months for a phone, I can have all features I need in android that are affordable so nah I am not into spending more than my budget

I have a simple theory to identify fake and real luxury goods, i have seen many girls specially in delhi who are traveling in auto or bus, carrying LV or prada, sabyasachi, Christian Dior. Dont get me wrong but anyone can you can guess from there appearance that they cant afford the original one and the logos are too loud. I am happy with tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, karl lagerfield like minimalistic fashion brands, if i earn crores in a year i will differently purchase some good cars and bunglows 😅

only suggestion from my side, that always prioritize quality over brand or cost. if you are buying a thing which you may use for years, buy a good quality one. it may be bit expensive than similar looking road side things and less expensive than the brands. trust me its worth it. i always prefer titan for watches, which i bought before 5 years, it is in perfect condition, even its color also same and i am still using it. i may buy tops for cheap price but always prefer good quality bottoms. so spend your money wisely and happily than for the validation from society

While creating this video to relentlessly rant about the evils of fashion labels and highlight how people mispronounce brand names to seek attention on social media, I wish he hadn’t turned his contrived argument into a farce by mispronouncing 'haute couture' himself. It's pronounced 'oh-t koo-tyoor.' In French, the letter 'h' is silent, and if the last letter is a , it’s silent as well. The irony of that moment was priceless!

It very tough to recognize you're buying something for yourself or because it's famous/ you want to show your status. I see this while buying traditional clothes as a woman. High brands charge way too much for similar clothes that we find in a normal clothes store. That's very true, I'm in retailing and i hate to say it , but when i started i was trying to sell the orginal stuff , pr you can't find original stuff at wholesalers, no matter what store you talk about there's a first copy available in malls and i asked the wholesalers to get me original but it's simply not available. I talked to multiple shop owners about this too, everything hàs a dupe in market , i feel bad for ppl for buying fake show stuff , when things if bought without these big logos ,are far better quality and well crafted . It's not only in clothing but anything that's in range of the target customers, aka middle classers wether upper or middle ,, y'all buying fake things of these brands ,unless or untill you have proof of the location of where the thing is constructed in true sense , not only in ready to wear market but even ,suits , sarees or any fabric , buying authentic fabric is hard even for retailers, who have access to wholesalers. I've seen not only first copies ,pr idk like 10th copy , man things are available at any rate ine wants , One funny incident, i tried to branch out into cosmetics and asked my wholesalers for original mama earth , huda etc , bro it wasn't original, even i couldn't tell the difference, face serum of rupees 250 or something, they gave for like 25 or 30 to me , and said orginal hai , and i was like what , And man I've alot , there's this brand i liked , indian , local and really well crafted, so ofc i wanted to be able to sell it ,talked to them ,and got to know the discount on certain amount of purchase and a few days later ,some random person texted me and showed me same for bare minimum which was ofc a fake bcs cost hi cover nhi hoga manufacturing ka , So all I'm saying is , be careful, it's better to buy from , a) the site of the brand ,do your research, B) find crafts that have quality, don't go for branding, C) if you have to see the authentication, think for a min , ki how the price should be calculated, if it's hand made , count the man hours. And is it the quality, check minor details, quality don't need brand to speek , their reputation will be bcs of craftsmanship but if the branding is way too loud , stay away! quality is not valued.

I prefer comfort over fashion so maybe that is another reason brand never affected me... but I won't shy away from saying that the only branded stuff I purchased ever is a Calvin Klein bag and that too only coz I liked it a lot and the global brand ambassador was Jeon Jungkook from BTS as I am a hardcore BTS ARMY. See I will tell you all something. Even in terms of car, Kolkata has some rich people bt its not known to be a rich city. Just yesterday a guy came for diwali marketing in his yellow ferrari. Audi, mercedes are not even that significant here anymore. A new generation of India(some might have generational wealth)can afford all these and these are no longer unattainable, that is why these brands are shifting their focus here. Also these cars can also be easily made is park circus with vaiours second hand or stolen parts assembly with 1/10th the cost. All this fake sense of luxury and exclusivity are just marketing gimmicks. Live within your means, buy then when you have extra cash after savings, don't suffer from fomo because practically no one is missing out on anything. If these brands serve you as a motivation well and good bt there are actually not worth anything
