Compare this to Sherlock. The level of respect Benedict has garnered and how seamlessly he transitioned to a HUGE production like Marvel! This can never happen in Bollywood. At least not so soon. Although I do agree that Indian TV serials are nowhere near the masterpiece that the first few seasons of Sherlock were. Perhaps producing quality TV content instead of the typical Naagin & Saas bahu dramas might earn TV actors the respect they deserve.

Not knowing that even after doing wonderful films he won’t be accepted by Bollywood because he wasn’t in any group or camp of it. No godfather. Chichore was a much better film than Gully Boy. In Hollywood they produce tv shows like The Office, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Walking Dead etc. where the show ends when the story ends unlike in India where show goes until the audience is sticking their eyes on the screen everyday. And also the TV actors/actress possess less acting skills because the storyline goes in a linear way in TV, no extraordinary Camera Movements to elevate scenes, a bland Cinema experience.

INTERNET: Even aunties have internet so they're getting aware about better content too, they don't have as much time as people think. • SLOW: so tv is trying to very slowly improve with less episodes and adding fantasy but keeping same negative saas-bahu nonsense + fantasy eg.with shows like nazaar, naagin,raakshas (abusive romance) etc. • FANS : which fans will slowly catch on to and while it'll go on for some years because it takes time for a big population of India to switch, but in time it won't work. • COMPETITION: there's too much competition from american/k/j/cdramas/anime/webtoons/KZbin/SNS/podcasts/audio dramas/Audiobooks/web-series/edutainment eg. fun self-improvement & educational ones (which are all entertainment) for people to give repetitive & bad writing as much time as they used to. Only barrier for india is English, but now people can learn English online too so as english speakers rises consumers increase too. • DROPS: I don't even watch bollywood/tv shows as much as I consume content i mentioned above. Because everytime I try because I like the start i end up dropping it even if i try to force myself to continue for closure. • THEATRE: Only went to theatre once last year (not for Bollywood) & didn't go for 8 years before that. • TIME: They de-value my time too much. I wonder what ranbir will think when he'll realize there are better things than just Indian web-series that are unbeknownst to them are getting popular. • COMPETITION: Sure just one of those industries might not get as popular as bollywood/tv combined in this decade, but in the coming time they might & even today people have access to them all today so combined as an online entertainment they're a good enough competition. • INSPIRATION: He should view/listen best stories of content types i said (as they have bad ones too). He may get hooked on a thriller webtoon himself lol.

sorry i wrote too much But honestly kdramas are just indian tv shows with less episodes and ost running in background most of kdrama fans only like this type of romantic dramas which has CEO and poor girl which our tv has already had like iss pyaar ko kya naam du like serials except squid game, all of us are dead, seven escape, taxi driver and some regression and time line series although I haven't completed any of them but i know them from webtoons but most famous are romantic type u think indian tv doesn't make it they do but audience is not interested in that like one month ago a psycho killer show trying to marry victims sis was finished I bet no one knows about that show it came and finished but no one gave it recognition and some shows like anupama started with good story but because of its trp they are not ending that show so i stopped watching it it's sometimes audience fault too

Not everybody can handle stardom. Stardom is not hardwork, but luckwork. Example Rajnikanth versus Kamal Hasan, Ajith versus Vijay, Surya versus xyz, Rekha versus Bhaduri, Bachan versus Khanna. I think ppl shd be thankful for being there. Vidyut Jamwal is awesome, but he can't handle stardom, bcoz it's a game of black n white, not just white n white.

Daily soaps have ruined image of actors and many TV actors are caricatured and typecast and many also do not wear good clothes nor work on voice modulation or presentation. SRK, Manoj Bajpai, Alok Nath, Ashutosh Rana, Vidya Balan did hit big league despite being from TV. That is because they worked in weeklies and not daily soaps running for decades and also had theatre background and training from institutes like FTII, NSD etc. But usually TV actors are ham and lack talent and charisma to fit in cinema.

I think its the quality of TV being produced. Every usual indian serial has the same script but a different cast. The episodes are repetetive, the stories are unoriginal, and it doesnt impress the masses to go out of their way to go see the actor on the big screen. The TV actors arent given scripts or roles where they can showcase their talent and their range. It's been years since I last watched a bollywood movie with a 'star cast'. Maybe it's because I grew up but bollywood didn't! Nowadays I prefer web series or low budget movies with not so prominent actors.

Sushant Singh Rajput didn’t get movies as he got caught in the nepotism or casting / contracts net. Thanks to YRF he couldn’t go ahead and sign movies according to the 3 year contract, but I don’t understand how was Ranveer allowed to do movies under other banners. Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself couldn’t take SSR for 1-2 movies thanx to contract. Gangs of Wasseypur he couldn’t sign. The came MSD-untold story.. didn’t get award. Chichhore was a better movie than Gully Boy, but thanx to nepo…. and audience..movie didn’t get credit at all…….. After his murder in 2020 I have literally boycotted Bollywood. Except for very relevant ones. OTT I watch … Barun Sobti, Drashti Dhami, Jennifer Winget, a few more. Television industry content went bad thanx to Shobha Kapoor and daughter.

It's pretty much the same even in Hollywood. TV actors seldom get the same fame in movies. And, it's really difficult for TV actors to get movies in Hollywood. There are some exceptions.

But as matter of fact they do not appeal to the masses, sometimes here and there they give good performance, and frankly If any of these actors were in lead role I'd think twice or even drop the ideal for buying a ticket. They are performers not entertainers, When I go to movie theater I do not want to be educated, I want to be entertained (in grounded reality ofcourse), and they certainly fail to do so.
