Good vid. I think there's another good reason to replace the stock fence with one like this aside from wider rip capacity - and that is to get beefier, more adjustable fence. The stock fences on many job site saws don't offer much in the way of tweaking the fence alignment to the blade/miter slots or adjusting the face of the fence to be perpendicular to the table surface. Additionally the stock fences are harder to mount jigs on since they are typically much smaller.

Awesome. Just bought the shorter fence. I have a setup to breakdown sheets that works up to 1/32nd of an inch. So only need it for shorter work. Just that the Rigid fence is not very confidence inspiring. The rest of the saw is great. Just needed to see the instructions in action. You have truly helped out quite a bit.

Hey Anthony, happy new year...I have a rigid table saw like yours...my table is only 22 inches deep...is that how deep your table is? I noticed that the vega is 37inches...and it sticks out a bit off the table...thanks man, great video! should you answer me the way I need it, I'm going to use your video to help me install it..(after i buy if of course)...I've read that you shouldn't use this on 22 inch tables..unless I confused the delta...wanted to know either way. thanks broski.

Happy New year! Unfortunately I sold the saw about one year after this and that was 4 years ago and I had the saw 5 years ago so I don’t remember the dimensions of the table. The best thing for you to do is go online type in the model saw you have and search for the specs and that’s how you will find what you are looking for.

be careful. it you build a n extension that far on a light table saw. it will tip over. Moreover, I observed on your video that the guide rails were dipping when you had just the fence all the way to the right. Perhaps you need dome type of support at the far right. At the end it will become more heavy and more difficult to move around and transport. However, if you decide to upgrade your table in the future you can re utilize that fence and rails. I just remember the body on the fence is plastic and may not support the stress for too long. Something to think about....Good luck!

I have upgraded the table on another video, I have also added a support leg. You can see it in action on my portable outfeed table video where I rip a full sheet of plywood. Great upgrade and one I’m considering for my R4514. The install process doesn’t seem too bad. I am curious what the process was for storage. Like you, I have a minuscule shop and don’t have space to store a cabinet saw with a wide fence, where did this get stored and how? I realize this is a super old video so response isn’t likely but just a realistic question.

It still folded up, so I stored it folded up against the wall.

I love the video and want to modify my R4513 table saw too. Aligning the fence is the most frustrating part of cutting. I recently came into a used Vega Pro 40" Fence for almost free. I would like use it but noticed that the Vega fence is very heavy. Did you notice any flexing or other issues with the table saw post installation? This is my only concern. Thank you.
@AnthonyScolaro13 жыл бұрын
For the time that I had this saw, there was no flexing of any kind, especially since I installed a table between the rails and later added a support leg. I sold it to my friend and he still has it with no issues, even years later.

Nathan Park the saw was very good and the system was great but I only bought this saw for the problem of having no space in my garage because it folded up. Once I built an extension and acquired more space, I decided to go with the saw I always wanted but didn't originally have room for. Step drilling is good. However, a trick to keep your hole centered on your punch when hand drilling is to use an 1/8 bit and make a divot in your center punch spot. The 1/8 is easier to keep in the punch center, you don't have drill it all the way thru. It will help keep the 1/4 inch from wondering any. Other wise this fence looks like something I need.
