Turns out the dumplings are not vegan as one of you pointed out (they include anchovy sauce UGH) and I stupidly missed it in the ingredients list. As a very white person, the way I differentiate between different Asian languages is like this: Chinese languages have characters that are kind of... blocky? Japanese characters are more flowy, and Korean has circles. I don’t know if that’s offensive, that’s just how I learned to figure it out growing up in Queens with lots of different Asian neighborhoods. 🤷🏻♀️

Thank you so much and love your channel so so much!!
@missragsdale4 жыл бұрын
fermented soybean paste is called "doenjang" in korean. the healthy boy one is not the same thing, that's a dipping sauce and doenjang is more of a raw-ish paste. doenjang is similar to miso, which is sometimes easier to find (i can find miso at almost any grocery store where i live but have to go to a special korean mart 50 miles away if i want doenjang). if you want to avoid amazon you can find korean ingredients on sites like yamibuy or asianmart, or even hmart sells some stuff online.
