So many people want to stop eating meat for a variety of reasons. It can either be to help save the animals or to have minimum negative impact on the environment. 🍗
But so many people find it hard to quit eating chicken as they find themselves addicted to its chewy texture. 🤥
So we have come up with an interesting recipe that gives you the similar texture which can be used in recipes that call for regular chicken. Not just that but its a protein packed recipe which is cheap and can be made with just 2 simple ingredients. 🥳🤩

With all due respect, I created this recipe based on Seitan that dates back 1,500 years ago Buddhist monks in the sixth century as a meat substitute.
White Flour contains 10 - 12% of protein which makes it one of the suitable choices to make Seitan (Vegan Chicken) with. Someone who is off white flour (with high protein) can use any other flour including atta. Seitan is one of the plant-based meat alternatives that comes closest in texture to chicken, duck, or steak which are high in fat leading to heart dieases.
According to Harvard Health Seitan is listed as one of the healthy plant based diets. "Here are some foods and nutrients to pay special attention to. Protein. A variety of vegan foods are rich in protein. They include soybean products (tofu, edamame, tempeh), seitan, lentils, beans..."
Seitan is made from gluten hence, people with celiac disease can not consume it. The protein in the flour that, when mixed with water, becomes stretchy and elastic. Because the starches are removed during the washing process seitan is made, it has very little fat and carbs. In addition to protein, seitan contains the nutrients selenium, iron, phosphorus, and calcium.

Haryana and Punjab gives India most number of wrestlers, atheletes, army personnel etc and 90% of them are vegetarian this prove that there is not much need to eat meat for the sake of protein requirement !

One can only wish you were right. The majority of the people in Haryana and Punjab may be vegetarian but are the majority of wrestlers/athletes/army personnel in Haryana and Punjab or in any other part of India or the world vegetarian?.

Pashtun's are non veg eater's like Ahmad shah Abdali and his soldier's are very strong so they win war's and Tipu sultan and his soldier's are taken Mutton gravy and biryani it gives 50 gram's protien's so they kill our Hindu's, because our majority of Hindu's are vegetarians.so veg protein foods are good for both health and immunity increase

Maida is actually just the endosperm. So, the nutritional value of maida flour is quite literally zero. To top it all off, the human digestive system cannot easily digest maida because it does not contain any fibres that aid in digestion. Also maida raises your LDL, bad cholesterol, makes you fat, clogs arteries, raises blood pressure, disrupts blood sugar, keeps you hungry, makes you crave for sweets, causes mood swings and ruins your health. I wonder why maida? Instead whole wheat sietan better.

you can make whole wheat seitan and just add little bit of maida to make it soft. Actually the seitan from whole wheat flour is hard and needs some starch to improve. The main drawback of seitan is that it lacks fiber as all fiber is washed away while preparing it.

some recommendations: grate this along soaked chaap/nutrella (not exceeding the quantity of gluten-knead flour), also boil them in a pot containing onion and garlic. Season your mixture with stock cubes, rosemary (Italian seasonings), garlic powder, fennel-cumin seed powder, chilli/paprika powder, and other seasonings of your choice. If you like, add some MSG as well.

Just like you made seitan, you can add few teaspoons of soya nuggets powder from good brand such as nutrela or saffola etc. Once again you need to work up the gluten dough till all the powder mixes with the dough and give it some rest. Either you can shape it like chicken breast or wrap it on icecream sticks. Seitan is bland but soya nuggets powder gives nice extra aroma and taste. Coupled with marinade and spices my 7 year old son gave up fish and chicken for the same.

500 gms maida = 100 gms gluten= 90 gms chicken= 65 gms protien 65 gms protien in just 20 rs Amazing.

How 500gm maida contains 100gm gluten? Atual protein content varies between 10-12% in indian maida. If you process well, one kg of maida gives nearly half a kilo of seitan which contains mostly water. So basically you are doubling the protein content of atta. So seitan contains 24-30% protein.

@@hdreality2334 you can use any of these twp or combination of both. Results will be different. You can try it out. Atta gives little less yield than maida and the seitan will be harder to chew.

Ji hum samajh saktey hai ki aapki maide ko lekar yeh ray kyu hai. Par Maide ko jab hum ek khaas tarha ke process sae teyar karte hai jaise ki es recipe mein pani sae dhokar kiya hai to uska texture aur taste regualar raw chicken jaisa ho jata hai. Please don't follow this recipe as it may be harmful to your health. It contains no protein, and maida is hard to digest. Additionally, frying in excessive oil can raise your cholesterol levels. I don't see how this could provide any nutritional benefits.

No no no. Whole wheat flour is really nutritious on it's own. As you wash it, the nutrients dissolve in water and go away. Maida is a much better option because it's low in nutrients anyway. Once the problem causing starch is removed-- the remaining gluten protein is safe to eat

​@@abhishekgarg1034You wont find the gluten of whole wheat palatable. You can either mix maida with wheat flour in the ratio 2:1 or make full maida chaap. Dont worry, the starch which causes these issues is washed away and what is left behind is 80% protein by dry weight.

This recipe for Vegan Chicken is a plant based alternative of raw/bland chicken. You can add spices like garam masala or to use it in an asian dish add soy sauce etc. depending what you are cooking. The spices can be added at the time of kneading the dough or after, your choice.

I have made KFC styled seitan few days ago. It was remarkably as good as real chicken meat. But the best part is, it doesnt smell like chicken. You can use tomato sauce, chilli sauce and soy sauce together and for spices you can use any of these, maggi masala, chicken masala, chaat masala etc. You can check out the recipe and use your creativity in this direction.

Vegan Chicken banane ki jo vidhi hai woh es vegan chicken ko protein rich banati hai. Vegan Chicken jisey Seitan bhi kehte hai lagbhag 1500 sal purana ek protein rich food hai. Jab hum dough ko pani mein dhote hai tab sara starch nikal jata hai aur sirf bachta hai protein. Aap yeh recipe atte sae bhi bana sakte ho aur fry karne ki jagha bake bhi kar saktey hai.

Maida's main problem is high starch and no fibre so it sticks in the gut. But here the starch is mostly gone, only gluten is left. So it's just protein. And frying is not much of problem uf the quality if oil used is fresh and good, and if the quantity if oil that finally we consume isn't too much. I guess it should be okay health-wise, doesn't seem bad as such. Doesn't have amino acids, but then doesn't have traces of injected and trauma hormones either.

Dont worry as you are washing away the starch which is the main villain in maida. The protein of maida is good.

Hi Gayatri, this recipe is similar to raw bland chicken. You can mix in the spices at the time of kneading or marinate it afterwards. It's completely your preference.
