Dave's happy dance at the end was priceless! Happy days! Also, as an Asian, I approve this recipe! Not saying you need anyone's approval, though. Haha! Here in the Philippines, we call this dish 'pansit canton.' I cook it a lot, almost the same way you do... But with a heap of chopped shiitake mushrooms. And mirin instead of rice wine vinegar.

I just don't get why they use tamari instead of regular soy sauce when they're making recipes that contain gluten (the noodles). They even use tamari when making seitan, I mean....

Chow Mien is not just American Chinese. You can find variations in Hong Kong, parts of China and even South Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia. But youve captured the spirit of Chow Mien quite well, in that it requires quick cooking of finely chopped veggies. Oh, that's not three table spoonfuls worth of tamari, more like 6! But soya sauce is an important condiment for chow mein...
@deliciousplants90696 жыл бұрын
Man, now I wish I made this today instead of ordering some chow mein from the takeaway! 😂I could have had it in 5 minutes too! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, I have been trying to find a delicious and easy chow mein recipe for so long now!

Actually, the Holy Trinity of Chinese cuisine are ginger, garlic and green onions. An exception is Chinese Buddhist cuisine which prohibits all kinds of onions and sometimes ginger as well, but can be really tasty.
