Hi Everybody! Here's my quick and easy way to make Vegan Chick'n Fried Steak!
For the recipe please visit:
www.theeburgerdude.com/post/v...
If you wanna make some Seitan Jackfruit Steaks, just follow this recipe but don't brush it with BBQ sauce:
www.theeburgerdude.com/post/v...
My goal at THEE BURGER DUDE is to show vegans and non-vegans alike how easy it is to make delicious and decadent vegan meals. I used to eat a lot of meat and dairy before going vegan, so this channel is aimed at people like myself before going vegan. Additionally, I totally welcome any vegans who might be missing one of their favorite fast food or comfort food meals as well, come on in! I want to show that you can still have burgers, mac n' cheese, fried chick’n and any other kind of comfort food, and that it’s possible with plant-based ingredients.
If you’re new to veganism and don’t know where to start, or if you’re totally new to cooking, or new to both, then I hope you find something on this site that piques your interest and are inspired to cook! And if you have any questions please contact me!

My favorite way to eat chicken fried steak is on a buttermilk biscuit, with scrambled egg, cheddar or American cheese, and mustard. I've been using seitan, just egg and vegan cheese to veganize it, but I'm gonna try this. I used to get a steak, egg, and cheese and a chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit from Hardees in Virginia a few times a week.

When I was little girl and I ate meat there was this malt stand we would eat at on occasion. They had the best chicken fried steak sandwich. I can’t remember why I ordered it. I was like 8, and my mother never made chicken fried steak. It was so good. I have never found the same seasonings, and it had a perfect crunch. It didn’t have gravy. It was dressed like a hamburger. This video is making me nostalgic!

I don't know if it has a name, but I loved it. I realized, even at the time it was a bit odd; but it was so good. And was never a dairy person, but that thick cream sauce was so good. It was served on toast and I, too, had to have loads of black pepper!

Hey man the recipe looks bad ass!!! The only thing I would suggest doing is using some of the frying oil from the vegan fried meat, or adding some spices to the butter or using an infused oil for giving more umph to the gravy. Other from that, I can not wait to try this recipe! I think the texture using the jack fruit and the ground beef will be spot on.

I couldn't resist and had make this. Never did a dry/wet batter of anything .. and then steak? oh boy! We used the Beyond Meat `minced meat`, slightly less than a pound, with a can of jackfruit. It was a bit tricky to do the battering without the steak/burger breaking apart, first one started tearing up while moving it to the deep-fry. Once it's in the oil everything sticks together nicely though. I think next time I'll put the mixture in the fridge first for half an hour or so, then form bit thicker and firmer patties, then freeze them up a tad longer than I did now, before doing the batter routine. The Beyond Meat is a bit overwhelming taste, so I may look for a less prominently flavored minced meat to use. The occasional jackfruit bite was still present, but the balance was a bit off I think. Other flavorings didn't add too much in the end, barely tasted the smoked paprika for instance. As the plant-based milk we used pea milk, but even the unsweetened version was still quite sweet tasting and a tad overwhelming, especially in the sauce, so will try maybe rice-milk or something next time. The combination of everything was very nice though, great recipe and I'd also really recommend those pickles! We still have 2 patties left, so tomorrow we'll do a second round. ;)
@_DRMR_
@_DRMR_ 2 жыл бұрын
Those 2 patties where in the freezer overnight so frozen solid and it was so much easier to handle them! In the end just as good a result, so would definitely recommend to freeze up the steaks before using them. Some pics of yesterday and today's meal: imgur.com/a/8c7b4dy

As an Australian, I am thoroughly confused by this "chicken-fried" business. To be clear, I know what it means, but in Australian (our national language) we call it "crumbed" or "battered." Bless your heart, America, you weirdos.
@soniajacobs3038
@soniajacobs3038 2 жыл бұрын
@Angela Lee “chicken fried” is different from battered or crumbed. We batter onion rings, etc., and use crumbs as a top coat when frying some things. “Chicken fried” indicates heavy seasoning in the coating, as in the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Colonel’s “11 herbs and spices.” But you are correct in that we are weird.
