The B12 uptake is limited by the intrinsic factor, to about1.5 micrograms per meal. So one needs to consume B12 at least twice a day to cover the daily recommended 2.5 micrograms. Haven't eaten meat since I was a kid because I can't work with the cows and eat them later. I drink a glass of milk every few days. I am aware it sounds strange to be a dairy farmer and vouch for a plant based diet, but I have economic pressures which make me continue animal husbandry at least for a few years. Yet, I would not recommend anyone to eat large quantities of meat or dairy products. They should be considered much more like alcohol or smoking; a delight with many detriments. A luxury good with a very high cost of production, economically and morally. In the long run, I hope more people make the experiences which I have made to see how potent of a health tool plant foods truly are.

Your ability to deconstruct these unfounded claims against vegan diets with such clarity and scientific precision is truly inspiring. As a keen follower of your work and someone fascinated by nutritional science, I'm constantly impressed by your knowledge and the way you make it so accessible. ✌🏼 The "nutrient deficiency" arguments often spouted by veganism's detractors crumble under the weight of proper scientific evidence. It's particularly ironic that many non-vegans, especially athletes who meticulously optimise their performance through targeted supplementation with creatine, B12-fortified multivitamins, and plant-based protein powders, perpetuate the myth of deficiencies in vegan diets. This inconsistency exposes a clear knowledge gap and highlights the importance of your work in promoting evidence-based dietary choices. Beyond the issue of nutrient acquisition, the fear-mongering around "toxins" and "chemicals" in plants deserves a more nuanced approach. Bioconcentration, the process where fat-soluble toxins accumulate in animal tissues as they move up the food chain, suggests that animal products may pose a greater risk of harbouring these harmful compounds. Conversely, the well-established inverse association between fruit and vegetable consumption and mortality rates underscores the protective health benefits of these plant-based foods. Furthermore, the demonization of "anti-nutrients" like lectins and oxalates often overlooks their potential for stimulating specific physiological adaptations. While research is ongoing to fully elucidate their mechanisms, these compounds, present in negligible amounts in most plant foods, might play a role in enhancing gut mucosal integrity and immune function. Similar to how the body adapts to the regular consumption of high-fibre foods by increasing digestive enzyme production, the presence of these low-dose "anti-nutrients" could trigger a controlled response that ultimately strengthens the body's natural defences. The latest research on the gut microbiome paints a particularly compelling picture for vegans. Studies consistently demonstrate a shift towards a healthier gut microbiota composition in individuals adhering to plant-based diets. This translates to a higher abundance of beneficial bacteria with well-defined metabolic pathways that contribute to overall health and well-being. Mic, your unwavering commitment to science-based communication is inspiring. Keep up the fantastic work! You're empowering viewers to make informed dietary decisions based on rigorous research, not fear-mongering or anecdotal evidence. We, along with countless others interested in a deeper understanding of veganism, truly appreciate your mission. Given the growing body of research on the environmental impact of food production systems, do you foresee a future where the integration of nutritional science with life cycle assessments (LCAs) becomes standard practice in dietary recommendations? This could be particularly valuable for guiding individuals towards sustainable and health-promoting dietary choices. Wishing you continued success, Mic!

So what about when vegans have a six pack? Oh, then the research is important, got it.

I can't tell if the original post is joking but since vegans are more likely to have a healthy BMI we are also more likely to have a six pack

There is endless denial and even more human ignorance. Fruits and vegetables with a few other nuts, seeds, beans, and legumes are more than enough to sustain top line health.

Thankfully Mic is out here putting in the work to get the real word out there…. in raps 😎

I have been vegetarian/vegan even raw for ~ 20 years. And got very very sick. Now I landed on carnivore and finally I am healing/thriving. (before I had to supplement everything in high doses. Could not get my bloodwork look better. Every day 25mg Zinc. 20g Vit C (yes! You read right. On top of fruits, vegetables I had to supplement so much Vit C in order to have healthy gums) - basically I had to supplement from A-Z in „high doses“). Forget the RDA - for almost everyone I know they do not have enough vitamins when they follow rda recommandations). It is easy to check this - bloodwork will show. And do not fall for suboptimal levels! Imho: there is no „one size fits all“. If one thrives as a vegan: great! If not/if you need a bag of supplements- measure, look what other options are out there. Do not buy into trends. Look what is best for YOU!

I posted this above and happy to see someone else saying this. Things that did not happen on a vegetarian and vegan diet for me but did with carnivore. Dropped 3 blood pressure meds and now normal levels by more than 20 pts. Dropped statins. Dropped insulin resistance. Glucose down to normal levels. Inflammation gone. Joint pain gone. Kidney function improved. Neuropathy almost gone. Gut and digestion issues gone. Mood improved. More energy. Homocysteine levels are getting better too. All the 'data' you are talking about doesnt change my mind and I'm feeling WAY better not eating vegetables and fiber. Don't need them. I was also making kidney stones regularly and now without the oxalates I don't anymore. Carry on with your path... in the long term I hope you are still feeling great. I sure didnt.

I have been vegan since the beginning of 2017. So over 7 years vegan. I am not in the best of health. Although, I don’t exercise regularly and I don’t eat the best food. Nutrients aren’t so much a worry for me anymore. I just know that day by day. Things are fine.

And, because he has a 6 pack and muscles, people will listen to what he has to say. I'm so sick of these idiots. Just because everyone now has access to a 'platform', doesn't mean they should be listened to. I was diagnosed with having slight Hypothyroidism after I had been taking anti depressants( that I believe was the cause), my GP wanted to put me on a some pharmaceutical drug for this, but knowing as I do. That Iodine is great for supporting Thyroid function I told my GP that I would increase my dietary Iodine instead and after a little research I found out that Poppyseeds are v rich in Iodine( I prefer using seeds, Fruits etc than Seaweeds). So I started grinding them up and putting a teaspoon in my porridge every morning, then went back to my GP for a blood test and what do you know my Hypothyroidism had gone!. Btw my GP said the blood tests( on NHS) didn’t test for Iodine which is crazy cos she would of known from my original blood test what my blood Iodine was like, but then she wouldn’t have an excuse to prescribe more pharmaceuticals!. 🌻🌎✊🏽
