I'm sure you read every comment and I just want to let you know I love you very much Lisa. I am not a vegan myself but I have followed your channel for more than a year now and whenever I watch your channel, it's like watching a friend. My heart is very happy and I always smile when watching your videos. Sometimes as viewers, it's hard for us to remember that our favourite KZbinrs are people and have their own sorrows. After watching your last video, I just want you to know that you are so much more than you believe. You're limitless and I'm here to support you always.

The school lunch conversation is bringing back all the feels of growing up as a first gen kid and being made fun of for bringing what people called "weird food" to school only to know have it be popular in adulthood.

Q for you. Did you rehydrate in water? Could you rehydrate in the sauce instead? I love soy curls.

You would definitely need to rehydrate in water first, especially since you squeeze out the excess liquid otherwise they'd get soggy.

I always take different cultural foods to school, but i never get made fun of, im a sophmore in high school thats vegan and i will usally bring all kinds of food to school, aisan food, italian food, indian food, just food with no cultural conection, you name it. I mean all of my friends are asian anyway (im a white american thou) and are pretty open minded, i just bring whatever and if they wanna know what im eating they just ask polietly.

Y'all are so funny and I love hearing your stories!!! I know what you guys mean about the kids making fun of Asian food at school. Def got teased for eating "maggots"... like wtf had they never seen rice before? What did they even eat lol??? Imagine never having eaten rice or noodles???? I wish I didn't care back then, but after that, I only brought Western food. :( I think people are waaaaaay more open minded now and more exposed to other cultures. Hopefully kids don't shame non-Western food anymore lol that's wack. And yeah NEM NUONG PLZZZ. Looking forward to the future Viet and/or Filipino veganized recipes yay :) :)

It was decades ago but, I don't remember people making fun of people with different food. I remember us saying oh cool. I remember being offered seaweed and trying it. I'm not sure what everyone else thought of it. I thought it was like bacon. I'm probably remembering it wrong. Because I remember people making fun of how people dressed. And my kinky hair. 😍🚵♀️🌵
